When the beloved unscripted series premiered in 2020, Tammy stepped on an industrial scale and learned she weighed over 600 pounds. The number shocked her and concerned her family, but Tammy only seemed to get worse. She couldn’t stay on her diet, she drank too much, and she avoided exercise like the plague. By the time season 3 rolled around, Tammy weighed a shocking 725 pounds, which was her heaviest.
Though Tammy seemed to have no intention of losing weight, a health scare landed her in the hospital and scared her into changing her life. Speaking toThe Mirror,clinical dietitian Kate Hilton said therisks are significant, and the costs are astronomical. Kate thinks the1000-lb Sistersstar would need to undergo about five separate surgeries that take multiple hours each. Thetotal cost could be a mind-blowing $85,000. Even though she’s a television star,Tammy probably can’t afford expensive cosmetic surgery.
