Absolute Wonder Woman Faces Tetracide

Wonder Woman warns the soldiers that they should leave before it kills them, stating that it will target them once it’s killed her.Diana’s blunt admission that she will almost certainly die in battle against the Tetracide, along with her explanation of its horrific powers, cements it as a threat unlike any other.

Wonder Woman’s New Villain, The Tetracide, Is Officially DC’s Darkest Threat

The Tetracide Torments Its Victims in Horrifying Ways as the Embodiment of Death

The Tetracide’s name translates to “the four-killer”, which is an allusion to its four methods of killing. According toWonder Woman, these methods are as follows:death of fear, death of mind, death of body, and death of soul. Death of fear, though deemed unassuming by the soldiers, occurs when Tetracide erases people’s fear of it by emitting a sound that draws them in. Like a siren, the Tetracide attracts victims via this emanation, then it crushes them in its jaws to carry out the death of body and strips away their ability to fight back as a death of mind.

Wonder Woman Welcomes Steve Trevor to DC’s New Continuity, Marking a Major Change

Steve Trevor just made his highly anticipated debut in DC’s new Absolute Universe, and his introduction subverts classic Wonder Woman lore.

Although Wonder Woman doesn’t explain the “death of soul” aspect of the Tetracide’s abilities, she simply says,“Death of soul is…well, that explains itself, does it not?“The implication here is that, essentially, the Tetracide destroys its victim’s souls so that they are unable to progress to any sort of afterlife. As such, the stakes are high, soDiana’s pleas for Steve Trevorand the military to flee Gateway City are warranted. Most villains are capable of killing those who cross them, but the Tetracide robbing those it kills of their souls makes its form of murder infinitely more frightening.
