I saw many production mistakes inLove Is Blindseason 8, and I’m convinced significant changes need to be made to boost the show’s credibility.TheLove Is Blindfranchisetook Netflix and the reality TV world by storm in 2020. Since then, the franchise has been dropping two seasons a year, with all the episodes in a season being released in batches. Each season airs for around a month typically.Love Is Blindhas also expanded globally, with the show runningthe experiment in the UK, Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, Japan, and the Middle East.
The format of the show has largely remained the same. The participants spend 10 days dating in the pods, where they are meant to find their true love from behind a wall, and leave the pods engaged. Then, they go on a week-long retreat with the other couples where they can adjust to each other in person. Then the cast enter the real world, get their phones and computers back, and carry on with their everyday lives until their wedding day, for approximately 21 days. However, season 8 had many pitfalls, and I know production needs to step it up.

Love Is Blind Season 8’s Production Mistakes Explained
Air Time Was Given To The Wrong People
Love Is Blindseason 8 had a cast of 16 men and 16 women, the most participants in the show’s history. However, as isLove Is Blind’s style, only a handful of those cast were given air time from the cameras. In season 8, Madson Errichiello, Mason Horacek, Alex Brown, and Meg Fink were in a love rhombus, but none of them left the pods engaged. I thought this wasa lot of wasted TV time, as I felt other connections would have been more interesting.
Not only that, but I also noticed the caliber of cast, notably with the season 8 men, was poor. Ben Mezzanga had a TikTok scandal, where former women he dated spoke out against his misogyny and how he bragged about being on the show for clout once filming ended. Spoilers about him and Sara Carton were also given as a result. Joey Leveille also didn’t come across as emotionally intelligent to me, and that was proven in how he treated Monica Danús.

The season also had a total ofseven couples leave the pods engaged, but only five of those relationships were followed out of the pods, and only four of those couples made it to the altar, with only one pair saying yes. To me,Love Is Blindproduction could have done a better job ensuring the cast were interesting and thoughtful people and that the best quality TV was shown, both of which I feel need to be improved upon in future seasons.
Love Is Blind Seasons Can Be Longer
The Love Is Blind Drop Is Only A Month Long
Given the outlined pitfalls ofLove Is Blindseason 8, I believe the seasons should be longer. While I understand the formatLove Is Blindis going for,I don’t think it’s doing the show any favors.Expanding the seasons, just by a couple of episodes, I think, would go a long way for not only viewer engagement but also how production chooses to present the most valuable moments. Having more episodes means there is room for the love triangles and rhombuses that don’t work out to be shown, and the connections that do, which would give me a better experience as a fan.
Love Is Blind Casting Can Do A Better Job
There Were Some Questionable Season 8 Cast
It’s clear thatLove Is Blindcasting did a poor job casting Ben and Joey, butquestionable casting has been a long-time trendin the franchise that I know is detrimental to its credibility. In season 7, Tyler Francis hid the fact that he had three kids. In season 6, Trevor Sova hid having a girlfriend whom he was in love with throughout the process.
Casting clout chasers and shady people has been a problem with the show, and I think corrections and changes need to be made in that department to save the show’s perception.

Love Is Blind Can Have More Couples Go On Vacation
Several Couples Were Missing
Love Is Blindseason 8 was a perfect example to me that more couples should go on the retreat. Kylie Schuelke & Brian Sumption and Brittany Dodson and Mo Ndiaye got engaged in the pods, but their journeys were never shown because they weren’t selected for the retreat.Only five engaged couples can go on the retreat.By allowing more couples experiences to be shown, I’m certain the show can improve its viewership and entertainment value, because there is the potential for more quality reality TV and not as much would be left out for viewers.
