What This Means For Alien: Earth

Alien: EarthWill Likely Center Around A Mountainous Area

In akeyAlien: Earthteaser footage, an image of Earth from space is seen, as the camera then cuts to the planet being reflected on a Xenomorph’s head. This suggests that the opening shots of the footage will be largely set on Earth, particularly in some mountainous regions. There still appears to be a spacecraft involved, and Earth is seen from space in a shot, so the sci-fi series is still not entirely Earthbound.

How Alien: Earth Fits Into The Movie Franchise Timeline

Alien: Earth is set to take the franchise in never-before-seen directions, but how does the new TV series fit into the wider narrative?

Showing Earth does give a sense of what the plot ofAlien: Earthmay be, however. Thevoiceover mentions that “this ship collected specimens from far away moon.“Perhaps the ship shown in the sneak peek has brought back some alien lifeforms to the astronauts' home planet. As a result, the Xenomorph could make an appearance on Earth if the mission went wrong. The series could also fluctuate between the “far away moon” and Earth.

Our Take On The Alien: Earth Footage

Alien: EarthLooks Promising

Themost promising aspect of thefootage is the look at the production quality. While the prequel series is set years beforeAlien, the ship’s interior seems similar to its predecessors, and of equal quality to movies likeAlien: Romulus. The opening aerial shot also shows the beauty of some physical locations. If the series can pull it off plot-wise,Alien: Earthcould be a great follow-up to Fede Alvarez’s hit movie that rejuvenated the interest in the franchise.
