How To Construct Hideout Buildings
Every Hideout Building And What They’re For
The hideout starts as just the Hiroma, a large room often used for drinking tea. Inthe back left corner of the Hiroma you can find a table that lets you enter building modefor the hideout. You can also press the “upgrade hideout” button that appears at the bottom of the screen when you’re there.
When you go to the build menu, you will first see the six main room options that can be built in the hideout. These are the most important rooms that you should work on building, asthey give you new gameplay elements to improve your equipment or improve the number of scoutsyou have available.

You need toraid hostile areas and mark stockpiles for scouts to obtain large quantitiesof crops, wood, and minerals to upgrade these rooms. You can also buy them from some merchants, but it can be expensive.
The hideout starts with the Hiroma and stables, and you can make the Kakurega right away if you have enough resources. To build the Study, Forge, and Dojoyou first need to progress the story, get a blacksmith, and recruit an allyfor the respective rooms. The rooms provide the following effects:

Effect
Stables
Stockpiles in castles and hostile areas can be marked by scouts. Two scouts are needed to mark a stockpile, and theresource from the stockpile arrives at the end of a season.
Kakurega
Unlocks the Kakurega fast travel option to the game. You get another scout and can use the Kakurega to manage contracts and refill your tools/rations.
Study
Gives you more scouts, and reduces the search zone for quests.

Lets you upgrade Naoe and Yasuke’s gear if it’s below account level. Also, lets you dismantle old gear for resources.
Dojo
A place to upgrade and manage abilities, as well asmanage allies and upgrade their abilities.
Five themed rooms come with smaller bonuses for you to construct in the Hideout. These rooms are smaller and can be woven in between the larger rooms, and can be decorated how you want them. They do give useful effects that scale well with your progress but should be constructed after the main buildings.

Jinja
Praying at shrines gives you stronger bonuses and lasts for longer.
How To Customize Your Hideout
Make Your Hideout Your Own And Where To Keep Your Pets
Once you’ve got your main buildings down, and you’ve done some exploration and maybe some shopping, you might want to place some of the decorations you’ve picked up in the hideout. The hideout uses a big grid-based map for building, and for lots of the decorations, once you’ve acquired one, you may place as many as you want.
This can be as simple as adding some birch trees or a bush to the outskirts of the hideout, or putting some lights around the place so it’s easier to get around in the evening. Your main and themed rooms can also be customized with items like wallpapers, armor sets, or unique weapons that can be shown off.

In the build menu below the themed rooms, you can find connectable rooms that can be used to make your hideout flow better. These don’t require any resources and are purely decorative.
While you’re exploring the world, you should pet as many animals as you possibly can. Not only is it cute, many of them will be added to your pet collection for the hideout, and can then be placed wherever you like. Strangely, pets have to be placed in the hideout the same way a room or decoration does, so move over to the pet section, pick which one you want, and then choose where to place it. You can put as many as you like in one area, or spread them around.

Common pets like the different color Akitas can be placed down multiple times, but special pets — like Tsuki-maru who is unlocked in the “Thrown to the Dogs” side quest— can only be placed down once. You can unlock some pets when you complete a Sumi-e Painting, such as the Tanuki. They can also be sold by merchants, but are usually very expensive.
How To Upgrade Your Hideout
Improve Your Rooms And Get Better Benefits
Each Main Room in the hideout can be upgraded to improve its abilities. They all start at level one and can be upgraded twice, with each upgrade requiring a greater amount of resources.I recommend upgrading the stables first and then the forge. Upgrading the stables lets you mark stockpiles with just one scout, giving you twice the number of resources available while you’re out;upgrading the Forge lets you put engravings on your weapons, which you want to do as soon as possible.
Yourhideout also has an overall level that increases when you build and upgrade rooms, which can be viewed on the top left of the build menu. Increasing the hideout level grants additional bonus effects for lots of gameplay elements, such as scouts, shrines, and the forge.
