Of the many historical locations you can explore inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, Osaka Castle is one of the earliest - and biggest - you can visit. A legendary historical site, Osaka Castle is known both for its role in the ending of the Sengoku Period and the unification of Japan, and also its stunning architecture, which incorporates a majestic five-story tower. But ina uniquelyAssassin’s Creedtwist, the Osaka Castle you encounter is besieged by murderous samurai, and there’s a great treasure hidden at its center for you to seek out.
Osaka Castle is structured like many other fortresses and fortifications inShadows: you must first eliminate a group of samurai daisho, powerful enemies who posea particular challenge for Naoe. Once they’re out of the picture, you’ll be able to open a Legendary Chest hidden within the main tower. Besides that, there are other treasures scattered throughout, hidden in various different buildings and stockpiles around the castle grounds. Here’s how to clear Osaka Castle efficiently and completely.

Osaka Castle Location
Where To Find Osaka Castle
Osaka Castle is located north of Osaka proper, just inland of the big river that cuts through Izumi Settsu and separates Osaka from Amagasaki. The castle is surrounded by an especially large moat, effectively being located on an island all its own, so you’ll probably want to find a means of entry other than the gate. I found it easiest to approach from the south side, as there’s a sort of tightrope that you can walk across that puts you directly inside the walls with little risk of being seen.
All Samurai Daisho Locations In Osaka Castle
Samurai Daisho #1: Outer Walls
There are three samurai daisho who patrol different parts of Osaka Castle. You’ll have to defeat all three to get access to the Legendary Chest. The first daisho patrols the outer courtyard, traveling around the inner perimeter of the walls. Curiously enough, he was the first guard I encountered when approaching the castle from the southwestern corner, and I didn’t see any other enemies around, so this was a quick assassination.
Samurai daisho locationsmay vary by season, time of day, difficulty, and the roaming guards' paths.

Samurai Daisho #2: Inner Courtyard
I foundthe second samurai daisho roaming the inner courtyard of the castle, much closer to the lower walls of the main tower. He’ll occasionally head down this dark tunnel, which is a great place to assassinate him.
Samurai Daisho #3: Southeastern Corner
The third and final samurai daisho was locatednear the southeastern corner of the Osaka Castle grounds, near the construction scaffolding pictured above. This was a pretty populated area, so it could make for a pretty difficult assassination; consider tailing the daisho for a bit, or even bringing in Yasuke to face him head-on.
Legendary Chest Location In Osaka Castle
Where To Find The Legendary Chest
Unsurprisingly, the Osaka Castle Legendary Chest is located at the very top of the main tower, just about dead-center of the castle grounds. But thankfully, this one’s pretty easy to get, as you don’t actually need to go inside the tower to find the chest. Simply climb up the side until you find these ornate painted doors, then head inside and grab the chest.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Review: A Gorgeous Japan That Plays It Too Safe
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows is easy on the eyes, but a generally basic simulation, scant upgrades, and bland side activities weaken the effect.
Inside Osaka’s Legendary Chest, I founda set of Peasant ClothesLegendary Armor, which grants significant bonuses to Critical Damage and Vulnerable Damage, along with an engraving that gives attacks a 3% chance to deplete a full health bar segment on a successful hit.

Other Rewards In Osaka Castle
Main Tower Treasures
Once you’ve gotten the Legendary Chest, I recommend switching to Yasuke and clearing out the remainder of the main tower. Simply enter through the bottom floor and fight your way up, collecting as much loot as you can on your way. In particular, look out for:
Besides that, you’ll also find a pretty significant store of resources in the tower’s basement. This includes several piles of materials you can hire your scouts to smuggle out over the course of the season.

Kano Painting
There’s also a valuable Kano painting located within Osaka Castle grounds, inside the building pictured above.Kano paintings are valuable items, which means they have no other use but to be sold to a merchant for a high price.
Other Treasures
A couple of the smaller storerooms scattered around Osaka Castle also have small chests within them. Keep an eye out for the locations indicated above to find theAodaisho Snake RobesandNatural Garden cosmeticforyourAC Shadowshideout.
Those are all the major landmarks and big treasures we could find in Osaka Castle. You may find a few other small chests throughout, but they all contain mon and other replaceable resources - nothing unique or absolutely necessary. Make sure you hit these highlights, though, so you can find useful items that make a difference for yourAssassin’s Creed Shadowsplaythrough.
