Why Ro Betrayed Yancy And Set Up His Arrest By Mendez
Sheriff Summers gave Ro an ultimatum: protect Yancy or keep your job
After feeling the pressure from Sheriff Sonny Summers in Bad Monkey episode 5, Ro ended up caving in and set up Yancy to come over his house so that Mendez could book him in episode 6. It certainly is the most shocking part ofBad Monkeybecause of what it means for Yancy and Ro, who were considered to be lifelong friends.Ro was even someone who Yancy looked up to and called a “guiding light"in a sentimental part of the episode in which Yancy gives one of Ro’s kids a stuffed turtle and explains the significance of the red lights all around town. Ro reminisces on their memory as he sits in his “emotional prison” of shame and guilt throughout the episode.
It’s clear that Ro truly betrayed Yancy and didn’t really have an alternative plan in mind, meaning he was really willing to throw Yancy under the bus to keep his job and continue supporting his family. Even Ro’s husband Montenegro, who shows up as Yancy’s attorney after Medez arrests him, can’t believe Ro would sink this low and do something like this. It’s shocking that Ro didn’t talk to Montenegro beforehandeven though he said he ratted Yancy out because he was putting his career and family first. Ultimately, Ro was just really scared and backed into a corner caught in a very serious and difficult situation, which is understandable in ways but hard to watch.

Bill Lawrence Explains What Makes Vince Vaughn The Perfect Lead For Bad Monkey
Bad Monkey executive producer Bill Lawrence discusses why Vince Vaughn is perfect as Yancy, how Jodie Turner-Smith elevated the role, and Ted Lasso.
Ro’s betrayal really hurts Yancy in Bad Monkey episode 6 who, underneath all his happy-go-lucky charm and wit, is likely confused and upset, knowing he will never be able to fully trust Ro again. Rosa also tells him exactly what she thinks of him when she pays him a visit at the station while also demonstrating how easy it was to mislead the simple-minded Sheriff Summers without even trying, something that she feels Ro should have done as Yancy’s best friend. In the end, Ro does the right thing and shows up when it matters by interviewing the witnessand presenting new information, saving Yancy’s ass. Mendez flees after being exposed for framing Yancy out of spite.

The Dragon Queen’s Forged Deed & Deal With Nick & Eve Explained
Gracie has her own tricks up her sleeve and tries to get Egg on her side
As shown inBad Monkeyepisode 6, Gracie Swan akaThe Dragon Queen forged a deed that said she was given a plot of land in the Bahamas from James Wendell, a man who she says had helped pass away in a spiritual ritual. She invites James’ wife and daughter over and gives them the forged deed, claiming James had wanted her to have it as a “thank you” for her mystic guidance in her final hours. Wendell’s wife accepts the deed with gratitude and without protest, saying she is very thankful for all that Gracie has done. The daughter, on teh other hand, doesn’t buy it and tells her mom to hire a lawyer, but is ultimately ignored.
Essentially,Gracie steals the land from the Wendell family and uses it as leverage against Eve and Nick with the help of Egg, her budding love interest, who sets up a meeting. Gracie did all this behind Ya-Ya’s back, although when Ya-Ya asks her about it she can tell that Gracie is lying. Ya-Ya doesn’t believe Gracie when she says that James gave her such a generous gift moments before his death, likely because she understands Gracie better than anyone and sees it for what it is: a scam, a trick, and a massive lie. Ya-Ya stays quiet on the matter for now as Gracie approaches Nick and Eve with an intriguing offer and a very aggressive negotiating strategy.
Bad Monkey Interview: Charlotte Lawrence & Meredith Hagner Talk Stepmoms And Sociopaths
Bad Monkey stars Charlotte Lawrence & Meredith Hagner discuss working with Bill Lawrence, playing complicated women, and working with Rob Delaney.
Now that Gracie owns a piece of the beachfront in the Bahamas where Nick and Eve plan to build their luxurious resort, she asks to be paid off in exchange for the deed. Eve and Nick try to schmooze Gracie with a rehearsed “deal” but Gracie sees right through it and makes a chilling threat, using her mystical presence to unnerve them and warn them not to mess with her. Later, someone, presumably Nick, attacks Gracie by throwing a bag over her head. Since Eve and Nick are both capable of murder and Nick will still do literally anything for Eve, Gracie finds herself in a very dangerous spot that she may not get out of alive. Unless Egg helps her out, that is.
Does Bonnie Actually Have Feelings For Cody?
Bonnie reconciles with how she damaged Cody years before
Bonnie is naturally volatile and unpredictable, making it difficult to ever know what she’s thinking. She seems enamored by Cody’s return and his romantic albeit idealistic perspective of their “love”, which seems to excite Bonnie despite her strange past relationship with him. Ultimately, after reading Cody’s poorly-written “novel”, Bonnie realizes, with the help of Yancy’s wise dad Jim, that she did some damage to the much younger Cody’s mind and outlook.
Cody may be older now but he is still just a kid in many ways. Bonnie appears transfixed and lost towards the end of the episode asshe steals Jim’s airboat just as the state investigator Johnna Russell arrives. It’s impossible to know for sure whether she has feelings for Cody because she is also uses him as a way to solve her problems, at least for the time being.
What Rosa Was Looking For In The Hangar
Rosa is determined to prove Nick is alive to exonerate Yancy
Rosa had the idea of breaking into the hangar where Nick and Eve’s pilot kept his plane. She was hoping to find a ledger or any type of evidence that would prove Nick and Eve were recently there and that Nick is still alive, a noble albeit law-bending strategy that would have made Yancy proud. She pitches this idea to Ro, who cowardly stays out of it before saving the day at the end of the episode. Still,Rosa goes by herself and is almost caught by drug smugglers, who are other clients of Nick and Eve’s pilot, K.J. Claspers.
Rosa evades them but shockingly finds Neville bleeding in the plane. Apparently, he had been hiding in there after being shot by Egg earlier in the episode. Rosa will likely take Neville to the hospital in the Florida Keys where he will be safe from Egg for a while and can possibly help Rosa and Yancy take down Nick and Eve in future episodes ofBad Monkey.
