Entering aBG3burrow hole
Look close, or you’ll miss it. A burrow hole inBaldur’s Gate 3typically blends with the ground around it. If you notice small areas of clumpy dirt or rocks that don’t look quite right, hover the cursor over the spot.
If it’s a burrow hole,BG3prompts you to investigate. Select it, and your Tav will relentlessly explain, “I’m way too big to fit” with every click. You’ve got a few options:
In my ownBG3playthrough, I tried to shapeshift my elf into a smaller race by going the Dwarf route. It didn’t get me through the burrow hole, but someRedditusers report that usingReducein combination with a small race makes a character small enough.
Instead, I’ve got Karlach going the Druid and Barbarian route. I have her transform into a cat and climb through. Some players try using Familiars, but they can’t interact with anything once crossing, so it’s not worth the hassle. What secrets wait beyond a burrow hole?
Burrow holes inBaldur’s Gate 3can hide anything from rare treasures to absolutely nothing. Often, you’ll find that they don’t offer much more than a shortcut between other locations, but they’re still worth exploring.
As an example, it’s easy to circumvent some NPCs in the Toll House along the Risen Road by taking the burrow hole out back. The path leads to a few rare items, and saves some time if you’re in a rush.
