Why The Duskbloods Isn’t Bloodborne 2 (Despite All The Similarities)

The Duskbloods was just announced for Nintendo Switch 2 by FromSoftware, and its similarities to the universe of the Bloodborne series are many.

It’s important to note here that although these people all have an inordinate amount of experience in the gaming world, they’ve only worked on the corporate side of things. Forging great games will require Sirius Studio to fill its roster with excellent creatives.

What This Means For Bloodborne

The New Studio Doesn’t Mean A Bloodborne Sequel Is Coming

Fans have been wanting aBloodbornesequel for years, begging FromSoftware and Sony to create a followup to the gun-toting arm of their Soulslike franchise. Hearing that the ex-Bloodborneproducer is starting a new company may sound promising, butunfortunately, Sirius Studio likely won’t have any relation toBloodbornebesides Toriyama’s ties to it.

The studio doesn’t own the rights to the franchise, and Sony is unlikely to outsource work on a sequel, even if it’s to a company created by a former employee. Despite the lack of news about a secondBloodborne, fans can look forward to the similar newNintendo Switch 2 exclusive titleThe Duskbloods, announced in April.
