Boruto: Two Blue Vortexand theBorutoseries as a whole has done a great job expanding the powers and jutsu of the franchise, introducing many flashy and cool techniques. However,Shinjutsu has demonstrated that it’s easily the most powerful of the bunch, andthe strongest Shinjutsu, Omnipotence, has been expanded on, giving readers an idea of how powerful it is.

Chapter #14 ofBoruto: Two Blue Vortexdealt with the aftermath of the Shinju attack on Konoha and Boruto’s capture by the village ninjas. While Boruto was being interrogated by Konohamaru and Ibiki, Shikamaru was watching from a one-way glass and this is when the chapter focused on his inner monologue. Although he was previously able to realize that Boruto was innocent and that Omnipotence was behind the world’s disdain for him, this did not last long asthe Shinjutsu made him complacent with the status quoand put him back in its grip again.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex’s New Villain Confirms the Upcoming Return of a Beloved Character

Boruto has just added a new villain to its roster, and this has big and exciting implications for the story.

Omnipotence Keeps Working Even After Someone Realizes the Truth

The Technique Keeps Assaulting the Mind of Its Victims

During the interrogation, Shikamaru was wondering why he trusted Boruto, and luckily, although he had a lot of doubt, he ended up believing in his logic and in Boruto. In chapter #80 of the series, a Shinjutsu known as Omnipotence made its debut as one of the godlike powers used by Shibai Otsutsuki, implanted into Eida by Amado, Kara’s scientist. Due to Kawaki’s influence, Eida used it to swap the lives of Boruto and Kawaki, changing the perception of the entire world, with few exceptions.

Omnipotence is an incredibly powerful ability as it has the capability to turn any desire into reality. It’s worth noting that Eida was only able to use this power due to her strong desire to save Kawaki from his suffering. Despite the immense power of Omnipotence, Eida cannot use it at will as she’s not an Otsutsuki. The power works by putting its victims under a potent illusion that cannot be escaped, and it overrides all sense of logic, making one ignore all proof that contradicts the illusion.

For example, Sasuke noticed Boruto was the one who had his headband instead of Kawaki, which made him doubt his mind, but Omnipotence suppressed these doubts. It was only because he sawSarada awakening her Mangekyo Sharinganthat he decided to help Boruto at the plea of his daughter, against his better judgment.

So far, only two people have managed to break out of Omnipotence’s grasp: Shikamaru and Amado, with the former being caught back in it again. Interestingly,it doesn’t seem to work on Sarada and Sumireat all, and this mystery will definitely be important later on. The jutsu also doesn’t work on Otsutsukis, which makes Boruto, Momoshiki, and Kawaki immune to it. While Mitsuki and Himawari are under Omnipotence, they seem to be fighting against it and doubt the truth, with Mitsuki even helping break Boruto out of his cuffs and freeing him.

Kashin Koji Beat Omnipotence In A Surprising Way

A Shinjutsu Versus Another Shinjutsu

Kashin Koji has solidified himself as one of the most important characters in the sequel, not only because he trained Boruto and is his ally, but because of his incredible new power. Just as he was about to be killed by Ishikki in part 1, he awakened a Shinjutsu called Presciencethatallows him to see multiple possible timelines, predicting the future. He was able to see Eida activating Omnipotence, but it wasn’t until he met Boruto that he confirmed the mind-swapping that occurred.

Because he saw the truth with his own eyes, he was able to trust Boruto and work with him, even teaching him the techniques he’d learn in the future. However,Omnipotence still reigns supreme and is actively messing with his mind. Even after confirming that Boruto was Naruto’s son and his life was reversed with Kawaki’s, he tells Boruto that his mind was telling him the opposite. It was only due to his power that he could trust Boruto, and even then, Omnipotence was still in effect, showing its potency.

There Is Still A Lot Unknown About Omnipotence

The series has many mysteries so far, such as Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan, the truth about Kurama’s revival, Boruto’s Jougan, and more, but the mechanics and limits of Omnipotence are still one of the biggest ones. Fans are using bits of information to make conclusions, and the only known limit is that it doesn’t work against Otsutsukis. Furthermore, the fact that Sarada and Sumire are immune to it raises more questions.

While Omnipotence is an almighty power, the series has shown that it can be maneuvered in increasingly unique ways, so there could be more characters that are freed from its grasp. Mitsuki and Sasuke followed their hearts, Amado and Shikamaru used logic and Kashin Koji used another Shinjutsu. According to Momoshiki, another character with the ability to predict the future, people who can recognize the real truth are bound to suffer, which hints that these characters will be important going forward.

Boruto: Two Blue vortex Just Hinted At A Massive Powerup For Kawaki, & Boruto Isn’t Ready For It

With the series' first arc almost over, a path for Kawaki to attain new strength has finally been opened up.

The chapter really demonstrated just how incredible the ability is, and while Boruto did tell Shikamaru he’d forget the truth, it was still interesting to see this in action. It also worked very quickly, with about less than an hour for it to start working on the Eighth Hokage again.Boruto: Two Blue Vortexshowed again how insurmountable this Shinjutstu is, and made Boruto’s struggle even more impressive and valiant.
