Divine Treesgot a makeover inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, attaining sentience and a humanoid form while quickly using their immense power to become a problem for neighboring shinobi villages. The rise of Jura and his subordinates, Hidari, Matsuri, Mamushi, and now Ryū, is causing the Hidden Leaf and Sand villages to assess the potential of these threats and their reach and potential to grow. As shown in the latest chapter, the Divine Trees are gaining an increased understanding of their origins, to the point that their threat and selection process for new members seems increasingly deliberate.
Jura and the Divine Trees began increasing their numbers due to Code’s Claw Grimes consuming various high-profile shinobi of Konoha, including Sasuke Uchiha and Shinki, the adopted son of Gaara. But for the longest time, it seemed this was an unexpected development, and for those outside of Jura’s circle, it was as the Ten-Tails remnants made their moves. But inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, this opens up the series toquestions about the Thorn Soul Bulbs and where future Divine Tree offspring could appear next.

The Birth of a Self-Aware God Tree Is Not Random
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s Villains Pursue More Than Enlightenment
InBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #15, a flashback occurs where readers catch glimpses ofShinki’s consumption by a Claw Grime, turning into a tree, while initiating a barrier jutsu to protect Gaara. As Matsuri sees the jutsu persisting even as Shinki remains imprisoned, she notes Shinki’s grit and willingness to protect his “master” (father, in this case) and that he’ll make an interesting teammate. Given how even Jura expressed surprise, understandably, at Code awakening self-awareness in him and thus the other Divine Trees inBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #4, this is an exciting development.
Boruto’s Strongest Power May Still Have to Be Revealed in Two Blue Vortex
Two Blue Vortex might be hinting at the protagonist knowing much more than he lets on, thanks to his mentor’s special ability to see the future.
While the same could be said about the Claw Grimes capturing whoever they can to consume them, there seems to bemore deliberate absorptioninBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #15. Other witnesses were on the scene, including Yodo, Shinki’s partner, who had not been captured by Claw Grimes. Given the Divine Trees' common connections drawing them to powerful beings, such as the Kages and former Kara members, it seems Shinki’s capture was more than a way to create a new member. It was also to connect with and draw knowledge from Sunagakure through Gaara’s anticipated absorption.

The Thorn Soul Bulb Is the Key to Many Mysteries About the Divine Trees
The Potential to Rescue Core Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Heroes
As shown inBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #12,the Thorn Soul Bulbthat emerges from the obliterated Divine Trees is hinted by Boruto to be instrumental in helping those captured by the Claw Grimes. With Hidari’s Thorn Soul Bulb, Boruto claims this would potentially help Sasuke; in the case of defeating Ryū, they could rescue Shinki, and so forth with the other Divine Trees. Given how quickly Jura moves to protect these objects and how they can reconstitute dead Divine Trees, it’s clear thatrecovering their Thorn Soul Bulbs is among the top prioritiesinBoruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Thorn Soul Bulbs contain the essence of whomever the Claw Grimes absorb, meaning each new sapient being should possess one, making their multiplication especially worrisome if they can recover from death. As each Divine Tree adopts the abilities of those whose chakra they absorb, it’s increasingly paramount that any future Thorn Soul Bulbs are recovered. Even though Boruto was injured trying to capture Hidari’s, they have a shot at recovering more in the future. But as the Divine Trees grow their roster, their threat scales upward in scope and global implications.

Boruto Will Have to Find a Way to Beat These Villains Before They Multiply
Striking at the Root of the Problem
The primaryweakness of the Divine Treeswas already revealed inBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #14, with Jura’s incapacitation meaning the defeat of all other Divine Tree offspring. However, this is no mean feat, with Jura’s chakra derived from the Ten-Tails’s remnants instead of seemingly any shinobi, unlike the others, even being able to match Himawari’s power after she awakens Kurama inside her. But the worst problem is that while Jura remains the biggest threat and can recover his lesser Divine Trees as long as he lives, he continues to amass more subordinates.
Jura’s Divine Tree team and their chakra basis so far consists of the following:
Such is the case with Shinki’s counterpart, and it indicates a strong potential push for the Divine Trees to move elsewhere inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, likely attacking other Kage in neighboring villages and/or their relatives. With Mei or Chōjūrō likely to be attacked in the Mist, Killer B or Darui in the Clouds, and Kitsuchi or Kurotsuchi in the Stone, the emerging threats could consume the ninja world’s most potent jutsu users. With the Divine Trees' weakness dwindling as they grow their numbers, it’s key that the heroes move fast to save the world inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex.
