The future ofBosch: Legacygets an intriguing tease from star and executive producer Titus Welliver. It will soon be the end of the road for Welliver as Harry Bosch, at least for the time being.Bosch: Legacywill be back for season 3, debutingMarch 27 on Prime Video, but it will be the last. Although nominally a spinoff of the original series,Bosch: Legacydirectly continues the main show and brings back Honey Chandler (played by Mimi Rogers) and Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz). Considering the adaptation’s history, Welliver is hopeful that another revival may happen someday.
Speaking withTV Insider, ahead of the final season’s debut, Welliverstruck an optimistic tone about the chances ofBosch: Legacyreturning. He pointed to howJack Ryan, another franchise for Prime Video, is returning as a follow-up movie. In the quote below, Welliver also mentions thatthere had been discussions aboutBosch: Legacyseason 4 and reveals that it would have followed Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch novelsby centering on the main character as he volunteered to be a detective for the San Fernando Police Department:
“There’s always a distinct possibility, like they’ve done with Jack Ryan and Reacher, [for] spun off feature-length films. So is there a possibility of life for that character? I think so.”
“We had already been pre-planning what Season 4 was going to look like, because we’d ostensibly discussed the idea that Harry, as he does in the books, returns to be a volunteer detective for the San Fernando Police Department.”

It’s possible that if the Ballard spinoff proves popular, there may be more incentive to keep theBoschuniverse going on Prime Video.The spinoff is set to debut later this year.
