Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Creature Commandos episode 6Creature Commandosepisode 6 is the penultimate chapter ahead of theDCU’sfirst season finale. Predominately starring Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), flashbacks and new insights help explain why Alexander Startorius is Task Force M’s most deadly and dangerous member by the episode’s end. Likewise, the episode also features a major surprise appearance from the DCU’s Batman himself.
As was shown inCreature Commandosepisode 5, Task Force M returned to Pokolistan to kill Princess Illana Rostovic so that the future WWIII she starts according to Circe’s vision never comes to pass. That said, Illana and her knights were alerted to the assassination attempt by Rick Flag and sent Task Force M scattering, as Rick refuses to believe that Rostovic is a danger and had also found evidence that something more is going on that has yet to be revealed. To that end, here’s our recap and ending breakdown forCreature Commandosepisode 6.

Creature Commandos Episode 6’s Batman Debut Explained
Capturing Phosphorus in Gotham City
Exiting his machine powered by nuclear energy and having become completely unhinged, Alexander Sartotius becomes the villain Doctor Phosphorus. Embarking on a major killing spree and hellbent on revenge inCreature Commandosepisode 6’s flashback sequences, Phosphorus took over Thorne’s entire empire in Gotham, becoming a new crime lord in his own right. As such, it wasn’t long before Doctor Phosphorus gained the attention of Batman himself, who is shown on the roof crashing Phosphorus' party at the Ice Lounge.
Creature Commandos Cast & DC Character Guide
Creature Commandos will kick off James Gunn’s new DC Universe with an animated TV series including some of the weirdest DC Comics characters.
Following his appearance among all the other dead heroes inCreature Commandosepisode 4 and Circe’s dark vision of the future, this marks the second time that Batman has made an appearance in the DCU, though this one would technically be his first as that future hasn’t yet come to pass. However, the DCU Dark Knight remains in the shadows in this new episode, just like Batman’s corpse was only shown from a distance in the previous episode. As such, the DCU’s Caped Crusader still remains uncast ahead of the upcomingBrave and the Boldmovie DC Studios has in development, and very few visual details can be confirmed beyond the expected silhouette with a cape, cowl, and utliity belt.

Doctor Phosphorus' Tragic Origins Explained
A Scientist Turned Supervillain
Tragically, Doctor Alexander Sartorius was trying to cure cancer with his nuclear fusion experiments, seeking to create a process that did less harm to the human body. However, his wife came from a nation with an oppressive government and took issue with Alex taking Rupert Thorne’s money and research to sell to the fictional Middle Eastern nation in DC known as Bialya. Having given Thorne fake secrets and research, Alex is eventually caught.Having Alex’s family murdered, Thorne intended to have Sartorius killed as well by his own nuclear device, only for the machine to turn Alex into the deadly and superpowered Doctor Phosphorus.
“It’s no wonder that Doctor Phosphorus is one of Task Force M’s most brutal and sadistic members, considering his incredibly dark and tragic past…”

With that in mind, it’s so incredibly tragic to see Alex’s descent into madness and supervillainy after losing his family and receiving his powers. Likewise, it’s evident in the present that he still wishes his family were alive, though without them, he’s become incredibly jaded and apathetic. As such, it’s no wonder that Doctor Phosphorus is one of Task Force M’s most brutal and sadistic members, considering his incredibly dark and tragic past.
Creature Commandos Episode 6 Ending Explained
Preparing For The Season Finale
At the episode’s end, Nina and The Bride leave the brothel they’d been hiding in after saving it from the metahuman duo known as the Craic Brothers who both possessed electricity powers (who they killed). Likewise,Weasel befriended a pack of wolves but still wanted to find the Princess who’d been nice to him the first time Task Force M was in Pokolistan. As such, the fact that Princess Ilana reminds Weasel of the young girl he once knew from his own past (seen inCreature Commandosepisode 4) could prove to be quite problematic in the imminent season finale.
It certainly doesn’t seem like Weasel understands the reason why Task Force M has returned, which is to kill the princess and prevent WWIII according to Circe’s vision.Likewise, Eric Frankenstein will likely become a key obstacle as well with the reveal at the episode’s end that he too has returned to Pokolistan, seeking to warn The Bride about Clayface who’d been posing as the expert Waller brought in to confirm Circe’s vision. Eric is hoping that this will finally reunite him with The Bride, whom he believes is his soul mate, though he’s more than likely in for a rude awakening.

Having been pointed in the right direction by the family whose house he’d been hiding in,Doctor Phosphorus reunites with The Bride, Nina, and Weasel as all for members of Task Force M head toward Castle Rostovic, intending to kill the princess and presumably save the world. To that end, the slow-mo walk by the team at the very end ofCreature Commandosepisode 6 very much resembles the same slow-mo team shots inJames Gunn’sThe Suicide Squad, a clear and easy signifier that it’s all about to go down when the season finale ofCreature Commandosairs next week.
The season finale ofCreature Commandosis set to release next Thursday, January 9th on Max.
