Red Death Reformed was a seasonal exotic, whileKhvostov had an extensive secret quest, so players weren’t sure how Ice Breaker would be earned when it was announced that it was returning.Now that Ice Breaker is officially back in the game, Guardians will have to uncover the mystery of the Vesper’s Host dungeon to even have a chance to earn this D1 classic.

Ice Breaker is a Solar, special ammo sniper rifle, and it has changed a bit since it was first introduced inD1.Its curated roll includesCorkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds,Composite Stock, and its exotic perk,Ice Breaker.This perk causes any enemy defeated with this weapon to explode, along with precision final blows or final blows on a frozen target to cause an ignition instead.This perk is yet another example of the devs' consideration of Prismatic, combining elements and interactions from both Stasis and Solar subclasses, especially with all thePrismatic fragments unlocked. To get this reprised, yet updated, exotic, you’ll need to grab the quest from Spider to enter the Vesper’s Host dungeon.
How To Unlock The Ice Breaker Exotic Sniper Rifle
Vesper’s Host has received pretty good reviews from the community since its release, and all you need to get into it is the Dungeon Key.Once you’ve got access, you’ll get a new quest marker telling you to go talk to the Spider in the Last City, who will send you to a strange station he’s found orbiting Europa. You can bring a fireteam of three guardians at most, but if you’re brave, you can try to take on this dungeon solo.
If you preordered or bought the Deluxe Edition ofThe Final Shape,you should be set, but for those who didn’t,you can buy the dungeon key from the Eververse store where you manage your DLC.
Once you load in, you’ll face the remnants of an old Braytech station, the station’s abandoned AI, and a whole host of Fallen House of Salvation deserters led by twisted and malformed Atraks. In the dungeon,you’ll need to pursue Atraks through the ruins of the Vesper station to discover the Anomaly, a huge, seemingly Vex-like structure that’s linked to the station; you can follow along withDatto’s guide on YouTube for a full rundown on the dungeon’s mechanics. In order to obtain Ice Breaker, you’ll need to defeat Atraks in the final encounter, but even if you do, there’s no guarantee that it will drop.

How To Increase The Ice Breaker Exotic’s Drop Rate
Put Your Nose To The Grindstone: Complete Triumphs And Re-Run The Dungeon
There are a few ways to increase your chances of getting Ice Breaker from the dungeon, and the most simple one is to keep running the dungeon until you get it. I’ve had my fair share of the dungeon, and raid grinds forexotic weapons like Euphony, Hierarchy of Needs, and Buried Bloodline, so I’m not looking forward to another one, butyou increase your odds of getting the weapon each time you clear the dungeon.This pity system is similar to many gacha games' systems, so you’ll have to increase that pity to get higher chances of the drop you want.
Alongside running the dungeon, you can also increase your drop chances by completing some of the dungeon’s triumphs.The three triumphs that increase your drop chance are as follows:

The other two triumphs are a bit more complex, and with Atraks, The Corrupted Puppeteer having a whopping nearly 16 million hit points, you’ll have your work cut out for you in both cases. However, it wouldn’t be a trueDestiny 2dungeon without tricky boss fights and punishing challenges, so load up your strongest build and run.
