Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas recently added several ways for players to express themselves with their Touch of Magic designs, but one key feature is missing, and it’s one we’ve already seen in another popular cozy game,Animal Crossing. Despite being able to display designs in Daisy’s shop, there is no way to share designs without traveling to another player’s valley.
Sincecustom designs are a major partofAnimal Crossing, players can share a character ID or design ID with others, allowing them to enjoy the designs as well. Meanwhile, custom designs are perhaps an even bigger factor forDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayers, but the game still has yet to implement what feels like a necessary similar feature for its players.

Touch Of Magic Designs Are A Core Part Of Disney Dreamlight Valley
Custom Design Creativity Allows Players To Express Themselves
Despite the ever-growing number ofavailable outfits inDisney Dreamlight Valley, many players have expressed that they still have trouble finding something that perfectly suits their needs. Furthermore, many players want to showcase their appreciation for their favorite Disney IP beyond just wearing a simple graphic-t, but there aren’t many options that offer this. As an alternative,Disney Dreamlight Valleygave players the ability tocreate custom designs using the Touch of Magic design tool.
The 5 Prettiest Villager Homes In Disney Dreamlight Valley (& The 5 Ugliest)
For every stunning & beautiful villager home in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there is also one that players would rather see tucked away or banished.
Using the Touch of Magic tool, and the unlockable motifs from in the game, players can create almost anything they can imagine. Despite the seeming limitations, players have been able to creatively design outfits resembling their favorite characters or entire works of artthat beautifully pay homage to iconic pieces of Disney history. Knowing how important these designs are to players,Disney Dreamlight Valleydecided to offer something for them to be showcased.

Now, once players haveunlocked Daisy and her boutique, they can add their custom designs to her boutique mannequins and proudly display them. Furthermore, Daisy also offers unique challenges to encourage design and fashion further, which then allows you to unlock more templates that can be used in the Touch of Magic design tool. However, despite all this, sharing designs with others is still only possible after jumping through various hoops in-game.
Dreamlight Valley’s Current Method Of Design Sharing Isn’t Cutting It
Daisy’s Boutique Is Cute In Theory, But Not In Practice
Aside from being a cute additional shop and a place to display designs, Daisy’s Boutique also serves another seemingly great purpose, which is sharing designs. OnceVanellope has been unlocked inDisney Dreamlight Valleyand her Valley Visits quest has been completed, players can visit other valleys and have their friends visit them. Using this Valley Visit feature, players can enter Daisy’s Boutique in other valleys and save the designs on the mannequinsinside for their own game.
The Storybook Vale Is The Expansion Pass Disney Dreamlight Valley Needed
The Storybook Vale has only had its first of two parts released, but it’s a significant addition to the game, bringing a lot of much-needed content.
This allows players who may not have a knack for design to enjoy some of the masterpieces created by other players, but unfortunately, this method is by no means simple or efficient. Aside from having to be online and having the other player online, this also means that visiting strangers needs to be set up via other means. This has caused players to resort to coordinating through Reddit or Discord to have access to other valleys and copy their designs.

While this technically works, it is way more convoluted than it needs to be and alienates players who have a hard time coordinating with strangers or don’t play online. Given how easilyAnimal Crossingwas able to implement a feature in which players could search for designs through a custom ID,Disney Dreamlight Valleyshould follow suit. Adding a search function or design code would allow more players to access and share their designs, without having to go through all the extra steps.
Players May Never Get The Touch Of Magic Features They Want
Despite The Ease Of Use, Custom Codes Could Create Issues
Unfortunately, the sad truth isDisney Dreamlight Valleymay not ever receive features like this. Daisy’s Boutique is currently the only real reason for players to makevalley visits inDisney Dreamlight Valleysince valley designs are typically shown off online and multiplayer doesn’t offer enough to visiting players. For this reason, offering a search feature or custom design ID would make Daisy’s Boutique mostly obsolete other than for decoration.
Furthermore, another concern thatAnimal Crossingoften faces that Disney is likely to want to avoid altogether is risqué and inappropriate designs. Forcing players to visit a valley they’ve pre-established they would like to visit guarantees they won’t be met with anything of concern to them that they weren’t already expecting. However,a search feature can’t offer the same safety to its players.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Bug Has Fans Laughing Hysterically As Their Dresses Take On A Life Of Their Own
Some Disney Dreamlight Valley dresses seem to take on a mind of their own while flying and reveal a bit more than was probably intended.
Despite efforts to monitor what players create and share, not everything can be filtered 100% of the time and the odds are that the search would occasionally be filled with designs that don’t align with Disney’s values. Since players are simply typing in a prompt, there’s no way to ensure they won’t be met with something upsetting in return, which could lead to overall issues withdesigning inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
For this reason,it’s unlikely we will see the same freedom offered to players inAnimal Crossing. However, one aspect that we could adopt is design IDs. Giving players a specific creator ID they can share ensures that players will only see the designs of those they’ve preemptively sought out and don’t have to worry about them being online or too busy with other players to share their designs. For the same reason, a custom Design ID for each outfit would also suffice.
Regardless of whetherDisney Dreamlight Valleyreceives the full custom design features ofAnimal Crossing, it is clear that the developers understand how important Touch of Magic designs are to players.
Both of these options make a difficult process much more simplifiedand allow for the focus to fall back on creating Touch of Magic designs. Furthermore, this could potentially allow Touch of Magic designs to be permitted in DreamSnaps since no player would have an unfair advantage over another, as everyone would always have access to a library of designs at their disposal. However, this again, may open the door to accidental exposure to inappropriate designs, so there’s no way to know for sure.
Regardless of whetherDisney Dreamlight Valleyreceives the fullcustom design features ofAnimal Crossing, it is clear that the developers understand how important Touch of Magic designs are to players. Therefore, hopefully, they will continue to implement other features that they’ve already begun to do, such as more templates and additional features to the Touch of Magic design tool itself that would allow less design-savvy players to create beautiful designs too.
