The chances ofEmily in Parisseason 5 at Netflix are addressed by the series director. The Netflix series stars Lily Collins as an American woman who gets hired by a Parisian marketing firm to be the spokesperson to provide an American perspective on various matters. It currently has four seasons available to stream on Netflix, with the most recent episodes released on September 12.Emily in Paris' leading castincludes Collins alongside Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, and Lucien Laviscount.

Speaking withEntertainment Weekly, director Andrew Fleming spoke on whetherEmily in Parisseason 5 will happen. When asked about the season 5 chances, Fleming seemed quite unsure as to how likely another season was. The director said that he has “no news to share,” tacking on that “nobody does.” Fleming said that “it’s really in Netflix’s hand at the moment,” not knowing what exactly the future holds for the series. In the time since the director’s quote,Emily in Parishas been renewed for season 5. Check out the full quote from Fleming below:

Emily in Paris Season 4 Episode 9-4

Well, I have no news to share. Nobody does. I think we feel hopeful that there’ll be more. I mean, it’s really in Netflix’s hand at the moment. I certainly hope so.

What This Means for Emily in Paris' Future

While the fact that Fleming was unsure about the future ofEmily in Parisdid not necessarily bode well for the future of the series, it did get renewed for season 5. Netflix announced the renewal this morning, after Fleming had already said his quote. Thus, even though Fleming was previously unsure whether a renewal would happen, his optimism towards continuing the story was ultimately correct.

Even though it was ultimately renewed, it makes sense why Fleming was not as sure this time around. In the past,Emily in Parishad received more security in its renewal. In January 2022, just one month after the release of season 2, the show was renewed not only for season 3, but also season 4. This made it such that the serieshad its future very secure, even extending into the next season. The viewership for theend ofEmily in Parisseason 4had not been publically announced yet, so before this morning’s renewal, its future was uncertain.

Emily In Paris Has Gotten Mixed Audience Reception

This Makes The Renewal Somewhat Surprising

Even thoughEmily in Parisseason 5is now confirmed, the renewal had me somewhat surprised due to the consistently lackluster audience reception. Overall, the series has a highly mixed 49% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 4’s reviews among audience members are even lower than usual, sitting at 46%. Even if the show’s creators have more story in mind, the fact thatEmily in Pariscontinues to get negative audience reviews did not bode well for the series' future. Even so, Netflix has shown faith in the series, and audiences will get to see the next chapter of Emily’s romantic and professional antics.

Emily in Paris

Cast

Netflix’s Emily In Paris is a comedy series starring Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, a college graduate who travels from Chicago to Paris when she lands a one-in-a-lifetime job opportunity that allows her to enjoy French culture and glamour while she overhauls a local marketing firm. From the mind of Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex and the City creator Darren Star, Emily In Paris takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the cultural differences between the United States and France.
