The Esports World Cup is just around the corner, but before we get there, we have the Regional Qualifiers coming our way.
On July 7, 16 Dota 2 teams will begin their journey at the Esports World Cup. With 10 of these teams already confirmed and locked in, the remainder will need to brave regional qualifiers. These regional qualifiers will begin on June 5 for some and extend through to June 13, depending on the region.
The Esports World Cup, or EWC, brings together gamers from across the world. With a multitude of teams from many different games, the event is one of the biggest esports events ever seen. FromDota 2andCounter-Strike2 to Chess and StarCraft 2, the EWC is a massive event for the scene. This year will see the Dota 2 tournament feature a huge $3,000,000 prize pool, as the teams fight for their share shortly before The International 2025 kicks off.

Esports World Cup Regional Qualifiers schedule
All regional qualifiers have only a single spot for the teams, meaning that there is only one chance to reach the EWC main event. While some regions still have a few teams that have yet to be confirmed, these will be seen in the coming days.
China’s regional qualifier took place through the Asian Champions League (ACL), which saw a fierce battle between Team Tidebound (now known as All Gamers Global) and Xtreme Gaming (XG). In the end, it was XG that held on to stake their claim on the single slot available to the region through qualifiers to the Esports World Cup.
Alternatively, Gaimin Gladiators have also received a direct invite to the event. This comes on the back of their win at the Riyadh Master 2024. As the previous iteration of the EWC, the team was allowed to defend their title, even though they fell far short in the EPT rankings.
