ENDEAVOUR #1 (2025)

Variant Covers:

Matteo Scalera, Matias Bergara, Marc Laming

Set aboard a historical recreation of an 18th-century schooner, ENDEAVOUR witnesses a group of children from elite families invited on a luxury recreational cruise with modern amenities. When unexpected chaos erupts, seven children are left stranded on the ship and adrift at sea. As supplies dwindle and the children battle the elements, a cutthroat struggle for survival emerges as factions (and double crosses) develop. Phillips and Laming’s maritime epic taps into primal fears and the desecration of societal norms, offering fans an intense, character-driven narrative. In an environment where fear and betrayal reign, each child must decide who they can trust—or if they can trust anyone at all.

Along with the expected action of a “stranded ship” story,Endeavourpromises to be just as much a cultural commentary as it is a suspense tale, focusing on the stranded children as they form alliances and factions in order to survive their predicament.Like all DSTLRY titles, it will be available both digitally and in prestige-format single issues with a number of wraparound covers to choose from.

Taylor Swift Meets American Gods: BLASFAMOUS Offers a Charmingly Demonic Critique of Pop Stars (Review)

Mirka Andolfo’s BLASFAMOUS, available February 21st from DSTLRY, features both pop stars and demons aplenty in a tale that takes hero worship to task.

IfEndeavour’s story sounds familiar, it should: though the comic plays with contemporary social structures, “amenities,” and questions, it also clearlypulls from and honors the plot of the classic novelLord of the Fliesby William Golding, which follows a group of British school boys who are stranded on an uninhabited island. The novel offers a scathing commentary on humanity’s factionalism and violent tendencies, especially after Golding’s experiences in World War II and the early years of the Cold War. One can only imagine what Phillips and Laming will have to say about human society in the 21st century.
