While Gambit wielding magical abilities is exciting, the curse coming to fruition would mean Rogue, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler will have to fight a ravenous and powered-up Gambit to contend with.

It’s undeniable that Gambit would pose a massive threat to the X-Men should he keep the Left Eye of Power and bear the brunt of its curse.

InUncanny X-Men#13, written by Gail Simone and illustrated by David Marquez,Gambit’s deal with the dragon Sadurangto keep The Eye of Agamotto is coming back to haunt him as the dragon reveals a side effect to the eye that makes the user crave flesh.

The Dragon tells Gambit that the hunger will become so severe that he will eat his loved ones, implying that Gambit will turn on Rogue and the X-Men if he keeps his power. This greatly disturbing side effect may force his fellow heroes to face off against a zombified Gambit.

With this unsettling new consequence of using the Eye of Agamotto, Gambit finds himself in a dire dilemma: either let the dragon reclaim the amulet and risk widespread destruction, or turn against his friends in a horrifying way.Gambit consuming his own team would be disturbing, but this wouldn’t be the first time he got a deadly upgrade. When Gambit turned on the X-Mento become Apocalypse’s Horsemen of Death, he gained a death touch that allowed him to charge people or objects with decaying energy that would then disintegrate them.

Both the Eye of Agamotto and Gambit’s transformation into the Horseman of Death grant him immense power, but each comes at a steep cost. However, the flesh-consuming curse tied to the amulet seems to carry a more direct and immediate consequence. It has yet to be revealed how this curse will manifest;Gambit could receive a death-like transformation, or it could be as simple as Gambit giving in to his newfound lust for human flesh. Either way, it’s undeniable thatGambit would pose a massive threatto the X-Men should he keep the Left Eye of Power and bear the brunt of its curse.

Gambit’s Incredible Power Upgrade Was Too Good To Be True

Gambit is not often praised as the strongest mutant orthe most powerful X-Men,but he still holds incredible might, and he often has to hold back due to his mutant abilities' sheer power. The probability that Gambit will keep the Eye of Power is low, as it’s unlikely Gambit would choose power over his love for Rogue and his X-Men family. That said,Gambitmight just be willing to gamble with the curse, meaning the LouisianaX-Mencould soon find themselves up against a terrifying, flesh-hungry version of their teammate at full power.
