A new set of leaks fromGenshin Impact5.5’s beta tests has emerged and it may be bad news for one highly-anticipated region in Natlan – but great news for another one.The action RPG by HoYoverse has just entered Version 5.4, a smaller patch in comparison to its predecessor but one that brings content like a limited-time flagship event set in Inazuma, as well as the release ofYumemizuki Mizuki inGenshin Impact. Even though players’ attention should be focused on the new playable content, the Version 5.5 beta tests have commenced, bringing forth a load of new information.

This includes rumors and leaks that both Varesa and Iansan will be released as playable characters in Version 5.5, as well as details about each of their gameplay kits.So far, some leaks about Varesa have shown she may be a 5-star Electro DPS character who fights with a catalyst, whereas Iansan may be a 4-star Electro support unit who buffs and heals with a polearm in battle. Among the leaks are also a few mentions about an anticipatedNatlan map area inGenshin Impact, though they are mostly negative since rumors indicate they will only arrive later.

Genshin Impact 5.5 May Not Add Mare Jivari

The Location Is Rumored To Be The Final Natlan Map Expansion

According to new leaks about the upcoming patch, Mare Jivari won’t be added with Version 5.5. As seen in a series of questions directed toward the leaker known as Uncle Teyvat, one user asks if Version 5.5’s rumored new map addition will be the final expansion of the Nation of Pyro, to which the leaker says that Mare Jivari will be the final one. Another user asks if the separate map area seen in the leakedGenshin Impact5.5 map expansion is referent to Mare Jivari, to which Uncle Teyvat says thatMare Jivari is not arriving in Version 5.5.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: Varesa’s Gameplay Kit Hints At A Fun New Plunging DPS To Pull For

The first few leaks about Varesa’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact 5.5 have emerged and it seems she will be a Plunging Attack DPS character.

These interactions between users and the leaker occurred on X (formerly Twitter), were printed, and then shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” onReddit. If the leaker’s information is accurate, the Natlan map should expand at least once more after Version 5.5, and this final expansion will be the mythical Mare Jivari, a mysterious location that is said to be inhospitable and is theorized to be the birthplace of Bennett. Thisleak aboutGenshin Impact5.5doesn’t provide more information about the rumored area in Version 5.5, but there are several clues and other leaks to consider.

The Great Volcano Of Tollan May Be Introduced In Genshin Impact 5.5

This Area Is Said To Be Where The Pyro Sovereign Was Defeated

As seen in new leaked images from the Teyvat map, which were also shared in a post onReddit,Natlan should expand westward, toward where the Great Volcano of Tollan is located. It seems like the volcano that has been looming on the horizon since the introduction of the Nation of Pyro will finally be accessible. A set of other leaked images was also shared onReddit, highlighting what may be areas around, above, and below the Great Volcano of Tollan inGenshin Impact5.5. Both these leaks were tagged as “Reliable” on the platform.

I Really Hope Genshin Impact’s Skirk Isn’t A Cryo DPS

Leaks and speculation indicate that Skirk will be a Cryo DPS in Genshin Impact upon her release, but I truly hope she takes on another role.

Even though players have been unable to access the Great Volcano of Tollan previously, some information about it has already been revealed through in-game lore. This location once served as a home for the dragon overlords who once terrorized Natlanand is known to be the place where the character known asWaxaklahun Ubah Kan inGenshin Impactstole the primal flame that eventually taught humanity to wield it. This is also a place of interest because the Natlan legends indicate the volcano is where the first Pyro Archon Xbalanque defeated Xiuhcoatl, the tyrant Pyro Sovereign.

When Will Mare Jivari Be Added To Genshin Impact?

The Location Could Arrive Within The Following Two Patches

The Great Volcano of Tollan is of great importance to the Natlanese lore and, if it arrives in Version 5.5, it should help better understand the backstory of the Nation of Pyro. Even so, Mare Jivari holds a similar reputation and it seems like it will take a bit longer to arrive. There are currently two big possibilities for when Mare Jivari may be added to the game. The first option is between Version 5.6 and 5.7, seeing it won’t be released in Version 5.5, and it would conclude the Natlan map before therelease ofGenshin Impact6.0.

Genshin Impact May Have Just Extended Its Roadmap By A Full Year

A new destination on the Traveler’s journey may have just extended the roadmap for Genshin Impact by a full year, effectively postponing Snezhnaya.

The rumors, however, indicate that Version 6.0 will take players to Nod-Kraiand that the following year of content, in lieu of expanding Snezhnaya, will expand previous regions with areas that have only been mentioned by name. If this is true, Mare Jivari could be the final expansion in Natlan, but it would likely only arrive during Q3 2025 or at some point in 2026. For now, all that is known is that Mare Jivari is rumored to not arrive inGenshin Impact5.5 but, as always, any leaks should be taken with a grain of salt.
