Could They Be Darker Than Expected?
As players progress throughHogwarts Legacy, they’ll slowlylearn more about the Keepersand how they shaped the school and the Wizarding World to be what’s recognizable today. The revelation that the Trial portals are seemingly linked to The Killing Curse has players speculating on their nature with many insisting thatthe ethereal doorways bear a resemblance to the Veil inHarry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. The Veil represents a path to the afterlife asSirius Black is instantly killedby making contact with it while Harry and Luna Lovegood can hear voices on the other side.
Some have suggested that the Keeper Trials portals work by “killing” one’s character before reawakening them in a new location but this is just speculation. At the end of the day,Hogwarts Legacyand the wider Wizarding World are filled with strange secrets and hidden details that may never be explained. One can only hope that a sequel delves deeper into the history of the school and provides more insight into the alumni who had less than admirable motivations.

As for whether aHogwarts Legacysequel is planned, there’s currently no official word on a follow-up project. The original title was the best-selling game of 2023, soone has to imagine that Warner Bros. would want to capitalize on that popularity going forward. As long asHogwarts Legacy 2 doesn’t turn into a live-service experience, fans should be pleased to head back to school.
