If true, the character banner leaks forHonkai: Star Rail2.6 may finally make me invest in a 5-star unit’s Eidolons instead of saving up for new playable characters. Version 2.6 is the next major update in HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG and rumors indicate that it will take players back to Penacony. There is only one new character confirmed for the patch. The 5-star Imaginary characterRappa inHonkai: Star Rail2.6will not debut alongside any new character during the update, based on both the developer’s teasers and leaks about the patch.

There are also leaks about some of the new characters arriving after Version 2.6. There have been multiple mentions about Sunday’s playable form in Version 2.7, for example, as well as leaks stating that Tingyun will make her return as a 5-star character. This would be a new and isolated version of Tingyun, much like the 5-star Imbibitor Lunae is to the regular 4-star Dan Heng. Despite that, there have been leaks about the character banner structure before theHonkai: Star Rail2.6 livestream, and it is making me think about acquiring Eidolons for a character I already own.

Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 Banners Have Leaked

Powerful Characters May Rerun

While Rappa is confirmed as the new 5-star for Version 2.6, the rerun characters have not yet been officially revealed. However, a series of leaks has teased the return of some of the game’s best characters. According to information provided by StepLeaker, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit,Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae, Acheron, and Aventurine may be the rerun characters for Version 2.6. HoYoverse has yet to confirm this, but the rerun characters seem like great options inHonkai: Star Rail– and one of them may be worth pulling for over new characters.

Acheron’s Leaked Rerun In Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 May Be Better Than New Characters

Acheron’s Eidolons Make Her Substantially Stronger

Usually, I reserve my Stellar Jade to acquire new characters. By doing so, I widen my roster and, thus, my possibilities when building team comps for several of the activities, be they farming-related, limited-time events, or even main story quests. With Sunday’s playable version andTingyun’s new form inHonkai: Star Railrumored to be on the horizon, I’d normally feel compelled to pull for them. However, the prospect of Acheron’s rerun banner in Version 2.6 is enticing. The 5-star Lightning character is one of the best DPS units in the game, and she works spectacularly well with Nihility characters.

At the moment, I’m more inclined to pull for Acheron once again and work on increasing her Eidolon levels, something that I do not normally do with any 5-star unit. Nevertheless, Acheron is already my main DPS, taking priority over powerful characters like Firefly, Blade, Jingliu, and even Feixiao. If any activity features enemies with Lightning weakness, I’m bound to use Acheron’s team comp to face thembecause of just how well-built and how strong she is in my roster. With extra Eidolon levels, Acheron may become unstoppable in activities, even those without Lightning weakness inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail - Acheron Character Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps)

Building Acheron in Honkai: Star Rail is very straightforward. Here’s how to transform her into your strongest DPS and the best team comps for her.

My Acheron already has a solid CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG distribution of 77% and 129%, respectively, but with E1 (Eidolon level 1), I could increase her CRIT Rate by an impressive 18% when dealing damage to debuffed enemies – which should be always since my Acheron is always inserted into a Nihility team comp. With E2, I could potentially charge Acheron’s Ultimate a lot quicker than usualthanks to the extra point of Slashed Dream upon the beginning of her turn. I wouldn’t necessarily benefit from the reduction of the number of required Nihility characters for The Abyss Trace.

For reference, The Abyss sees that, when there are one or two Nihility characters other than Acheron in the team comp, the DMG dealt by her Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate increases to 115% or 160% of the original DMG, respectively.

E3 would simply increase the level of Acheron’s Ultimate and Basic ATK, which are already strong, butE4 would be a huge leap in power. Enemies entering combat would become more vulnerable to Ultimate DMG and, seeing Acheron’s main source of damage is her Ultimate, the extra 8% Ultimate DMG they take would likely be enough to one-shot medium to stronger opponents. E5 would then be a level increase to Acheron’s Skill and Talent, which would be beneficial, too, but I’d already be aiming for her E6 inHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail’s Sunday looks serious on Penacony.

Honkai: Star Rail’s New Leaked Character May Be The First Of Their Kind

One of the new leaked characters for Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 may be capable of storing allies’ overflowing Energy for their own Ultimate.

With E6, the All-Type RES PEN for Acheron’s Ultimate DMG is boosted by a massive 20%. Additionally, the DMG dealt by Acheron’s Basic Attack and Skill are also considered Ultimate DMG and they can reduce enemy Toughness even if opponents are not weak against Lightning DMG. When their Weakness is broken, Lightning Weakness Break effect is triggered. Essentially, Acheron becomes unstoppable with her final Eidolon. I even use Acheron against enemies that are not weak against Lightning, but if I manage to get her to E6,I’d probably be able to retire all other DPS characters inHonkai: Star Rail.

Rumored New 5-Star Characters In Honkai: Star Rail Seem Less Enticing Than Acheron’s Eidolons

Many Of My Supports Are Just Set Aside

In comparison to just how strong Acheron’s Eidolons are, the rumors about new 5-star characters so far seem somewhat less enticing. Sunday is rumored to be a new support character who allows allies’ Ultimate Energy to overflow so that he can store it for himself, while Tingyun’s new form is rumored to boost some aspect of Break DMG.While the leaks are still early and incomplete, none of them have grabbed my attention, particularly. As of this moment, I have a surplus of support characters inHonkai: Star Rail, many of which I don’t even use, despite how good they are.

Sparkle, for example, is one of them. While she is strong, the lack of Imbibitor Lunae in my roster makes her feel somewhat useless. She could be used alongside my Seele, but the Quantum DPS also feels surpassed when it comes to power levels, so Sparkle is just set aside for now. As such,I feel like pulling for Acheron’s Eidolons may be more worthwhile than investing in another support character in the future, especially because of how well-covered I already am with Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Tingyun, for example.

Honkai Star Rail 2.6 Leaks: Jingliu May Make A Huge Gameplay Comeback & I Couldn’t Be Happier

Jingliu is still one of the best DPS in Honkai: Star Rail, though her value has declined. That may soon change with the release of Version 2.6.

This is not to say I’ll be able to max out Acheron’s Eidolons during her next rerun alone, but it could be the start of my complete investment in a single 5-star character, something that I have not yet done. Seeing Acheron is already my main DPS and preferred character among my entire roster, it feels like the right move to make, especially considering I’m not particularly excited about the rumored upcoming characters inHonkai: Star Rail.
