Dogmamight finally be getting a sequel. The 1999Smith filmis considered the fourth movie in the View Askewniverse saga. Its plot focuses on an abortion clinic worker who has to save humanity from two renegade angels who attempt to find a loophole to get into heaven. The film starred Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as the angels, with a supporting cast of Linda Fiorentino, Bud Cort, and Brian O’Halloran. While the movie was decently received, it alsobecame known for being caught up in rights issues for years that left its DVD out of print.

As per a Threads post fromSmith,it looks likeDogma 2may finally be on its way. The filmmaker shared an image of him standing at the Saints Peter and Paul Church in Pittsburgh, PA, where the originalDogmawas shot. He wrote that “This year, we’re gonna honor all of ‘em…when we resurrect #Dogma!” Smith did not fully detail what this “resurrection” meant, and what stage the project was in, but said that more details are on their way.
