Agatha All Alonghas continued to make changes to stories audiences thought they knew in theMarvel Cinematic Universe, and themost recent change concerns the responsibility for Scarlet Witch’s death. WhileScarlet Witch’s status in the MCUhas been made abundantly clear, details of the character continue to impact the universe. WithAgatha All Alongepisode 6 explainingwhat happened to Scarlet Witch’s sons, important context is provided for understanding Wanda’s heel-turn that took place inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Following rumors that have swirled since the series began,Agatha All Alonghas re-introduced Billy Maximoff, leading to questions aboutwhere his brother Tommy could be. Wanda Maximoff’s family fromWandaVisionseems to be at the center of many of the new series' events, and it appears that the program intends to provide a great deal of additional context toWandaVision. One of the most notable new additions to the lore concerns events that occurred with William Kaplan in the latest episode.

Agatha All Along Expands Scarlet Witch’s Story Indirectly
Billy And Tommy Maximoff Appear To Be Important To Agatha All Along
Despite being dead, Wanda Maximoff has played an important part in the story ofAgatha All Along. There have beenseveral Scarlet Witch referencesthroughout the series, andthe introduction of Billy Maximoff has made it clearer that more will follow. The latest episode of the show saw the Hex Wanda had placed on Westview, and examined the impacts of that on William Kaplan during a violent car crash. The souls of Billy and Tommy Maximoff are released beyond the boundaries of the Hex, leading to many possibilities.
While the story of Billy and Tommy is not a direct continuation of Wanda’s own story, it is important to it.Wanda’s violent travel across the multiverse was inspired by her children calling out to herafter the Hex was destroyed. She was searching for her children, wherever they might be, although it appears this may have been foolish. WhileWanda wasn’t able to find Billyin her own universe, he had actually been right there the entire time.

Lilia Calderu May Be To Blame For Scarlet Witch’s Death All Along
Lilia’s Sigil Kept Billy From Being Able To Reveal Himself
The latest episode ofAgatha All Alongexplained Billy’s return, and it addressed components in some unexpected ways. Most notably, this was done during a scene whereWilliam Kaplan met Lilia Calderu during his Bar Mitzvah.Posing as only a palm reader, the witch who would later become a part of Agatha’s coven saw something disturbing in William’s future, and placed a sigil upon him that kept him from revealing himself. When William was taken over by Billy, this hid him from the various witches of the MCU.
Because of this sigil,Wanda was not able to locate her own son in her own universe. This small choice caused Wanda to rain destruction upon the multiverse in search of her sons. While Tommy’s MCU status has not yet been confirmed, it seems likely that a similar fate could have befallen him, and that Wanda’s entire story inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmay have been in vain. If Billy had not been hidden from Wanda by Lilia’s actions, the Scarlet Witch may never have died at all.

Wanda’s story in the MCU is deep, dark, and tragic. However, even after it has ended, it appears that numerous events still seem to be tied in with her story. Billy Maximoff’s return inAgatha All Alongis exciting, and leads to much speculation about the return of Tommy, and even of the Scarlet Witch herself. Death is never truly the end in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and audiences desperately want Wanda to return. In some capacity, it feels likely to happen at some point, and likely sooner than later.
