Million Dollar Secretfeatures a group of game players who are all working to try and figure out who has the million dollar grand prize, and after seeing the cast heatedly debate the merits of Sydnee Falkner and Lauren Trefethren,I’m happy they made the decision to keep Sydnee. While thecast ofMillion Dollar Secretseason 1has been tasked with an impossible challenge, it’s been interesting to watch them untangle the web they’ve been weaving from episode to episode. When it became clear they may be pushing to get Sydnee out of the game, however, I was surprised.
ThroughoutMillion Dollar Secretseason 1episode 3, the cast was up in arms about Lauren coming clean about being the previous millionaire. Lauren, a 35-year-old stay-at-home mom from Omaha, Nebraska, was open about the fact that she’d been the millionaire, but was no longer in possession of the money as it had moved to another player. While Lauren was smart to reveal her status, it was clear that the cast was struggling to trust her after her admission. The elimination was tense, asthe cast had to choose between previous millionaire Lauren and suspected millionaire Sydnee.

Lauren was withholding too much information to be trusted, so eliminating her was the right choice.
She Was Hopeful She Could Provide Expertise
Although Lauren, who was the season’s first millionaire, was careful to conceal her identity throughout the first challenges, it was clear that she was struggling by the time she lost the money. When she lost the money due to an advantage the rest of the cast won in a competition, Lauren was relieved to have the money moved away from her. Lauren shared that she’d had a tough time being the millionaire, butcould reveal information that may help them find the next one, expecting the rest of the cast to react well. Instead, many struggled to continue trusting her.
She Didn’t Want To Share Everything She Knew
AsMillion Dollar Secret’sLauren explained that she’d be able to provide valuable information about the next millionaire, the cast seemed to be interested, but only trusted her to a degree. Many pointed out that she could make things up if she wanted, and others struggled to understand how they were supposed to trust her after she’d lied to everyone for the first days of competition. On top of the cast’s concerns, Lauren didn’t want to share everything she knew, explaining thatthere were some parts of the millionaire experience she wanted to keep to herself.

AlthoughtheMillion Dollar Secretcastappeared to understand to an extent, they also didn’t really grasp why Lauren was keeping information to herself if she wasn’t the millionaire anymore. Lauren made it clear that she wanted to be able to use the information she knew to her advantage, but she also didn’t appear to get that withholding that information was going to cost her trust in the game. Hopeful to give herself a leg up,Lauren didn’t think about the idea that refusing to speak up could make it impossible for her to stay trusted.

Million Dollar Secret’s Sydnee Was The Right Choice To Save After A Tie Vote
Lauren Was Too Much Of A Wildcard To Save
Although Sydnee, who some felt could be the millionaire, wasn’t doing much to dissuade the cast from believing it was her, she also knew thatLauren was more dangerous of a player. After a vote that resulted in a tie, one vote switched from Sydnee to Lauren to eliminate her from the game. While it may have been a smart move to keep Lauren in the game after getting to see her tells, eliminating her made more sense for theMillion Dollar Secretcast. Lauren was withholding too much information to be trusted, so eliminating her was the right choice.
