The future ofMoon Knightin theMarvel Cinematic Universeis addressed by one of the directors who worked on Oscar Isaac’s TV show. It has been more than two years since Isaac joinedthe MCU timelinein theMoon Knightseries, playing one of the most complex superheroes in the whole Marvel canon. Following his debut, many have been wondering whether or notMoon Knightseason 2 will actually happen on Disney+.
In a newDeadlineinterview,Moon Knightepisodic director Mohamed Diab was asked about his work on the Marvel TV show, including whether or not he knows if season 2 will happen for the show.Diab gave a candid response that"with Marvel nothing is called finished,“saying Moon Knight could go in various directions, while stating the following:

You never know - with Marvel nothing is called finished. There could be a film, or he could go into another universe. Right now nothing is in talks but I definitely with Moon Knight, I would love to be involved in anything else and it could happen for sure. I have a great relationship with them.
What Mohamed Diab’s Moon Knight Comments May Mean The MCU Hero
Even if Diab knew something about a potentialMoon Knightseason 2,the filmmaker wouldn’t have been able to give a concrete answer as he would likely be under an NDA from revealing anything until Marvel Studios reveals something themselves. Usually, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios will make a formal announcement at a big event when giving new updates about MCU movies and TV shows. A big reason why they may not have revealed anything about a potentialMoon Knightseason 2 is because it is likely not a formal lock yet.
However, Diab is right that Moon Knight’s future in the MCU can go beyond his own TV show, which is already proving to be the case.Isaac’s Moon Knight will return inWhat If…?season 3, marking his first time back in the franchise after his finale in Phase 4.

From there,Isaac could easily appear in upcoming MCU films likeAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars, which feels likely as those films will be the biggest installments for The Multiverse Saga. If the long-time-speculatedMidnight Sonsproject finally comes to fruition, that would be a natural place for Moon Knight to take part with other supernatural characters in the MCU.
Our Take On Mohamed Diab’s Moon Knight Comments
Given howtheMoon Knightfinale ended, there are clearly more stories to be told with Marc Spector, Steven Grant, as well as the newly introduced alter, Jake Lockley, in the MCU. At this point,it wouldn’t be shocking if Marvel Studios and Disney+ try to pursueMoon Knightseason 2 sometime after The Multiverse Saga, as they are putting their focus on finishing that game-changing story arc. Until then, the world can relive every episode ofMoon Knightseason 1 on Disney+ or through Blu-ray/DVD.
