Unfortunately for fans of the iconicAvatar: The Legend of Korra, the series may be losing one of its biggest homes soon, and this could open the floodgates for its predecessor to leave as well. While the possibility of this happening has been known for quite some time, it is finally in full effect and is now happening.

As reported byWhat’s On Netflix, the premiere source to keep track of everything on and leaving Netflix,The Legend of Korrais set to leave Netflix on August 19, 2025, just 5 years after it was made available on the platform. While this is primarily in effect in the United States, the series' availability internationally is unknown, it is possible that everyone will be unable to watch the series after April 15. However, the removal of the series could be reversed if Netflix negotiates for an extended license, as has happened before with other content, but there is one major reason this could not go through.

Korra Is Losing One Of Its Major Homes

While this may come as a surprise to many, it had already been revealed that the franchise would be removed from other platforms by the parent company. In 2021, Brian Robbins, the co-CEO of Paramount and the then CEO of Nickelodeon, revealed that they had plans forAvatar: The Last AirbenderandAvatar: Legend of Korrato be a Paramount+-exclusive series in the future, and that they were very upfront about this plan to other hosting streaming platforms.

If You’ve Only Watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, You’ve Only Seen Half the Series

Avatar: The Last Airbender’s story extends far beyond the TV show’s finale, through graphic novels, short stories, and free comics!

WhileAvatar: Legend of Korrais going to be leaving Netflix in approximately a month, it is not all bad news for fans of the franchise asthe first part will stay on the platform until April 2027, with Netflix recently extending the license for 2 more years. This was probably made possible due to the live-action series the platform is hosting, which was a massive success and no doubt brought a lot of attention to the original series. The Legend of Korrawasn’t quite as lucky, unfortunately.
