Captain America: Brave New Worldrecently held a junket, where the cast of the film, including one of its newMarvel Cinematic Universestars, opened up about their potential future in the franchise. While much of the film’s marketing has centered around the conflict between Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk, there are actually many more new characters introduced in the film. These include Shira Hass' Ruth Bat-Seraph, Giancarlo Esposito’s Sidewinder, and a brand-new Falcon.
During the junket,ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley spoke with Danny Ramirez, who plays Joaquin Torres in the film. The character, who was previously introduced inThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will take on the mantle of Falcon in the film. Considering thatSam Wilson was the original MCU Falcon, and he appeared in many Marvel Universe films through the years, there is speculation that Ramirez will have a similar trajectory in the series. When asked about appearing inAvengers: Doomsday, however, the actor revealed that he is not in the film as it stands.

I hope so. I haven’t gotten the call yet, so I always keep my phone in near me just in case that call comes. But I hope so. I think I’ll pitch myself real quick. I’m just kidding. No, it’s an exciting prospect, but obviously anything goes in this world, so hopefully when you go and watch this movie, I think hopefully it gives an answer, but maybe it doesn’t. Who’s to say."
What Danny Ramirez’s Comments Mean For Falcon’s Future
The Character May Not Appear Beyond Brave New World
The comments Ramirez gave were a little non-committal, but seem to suggest that the character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not yet decided. While Sam Wilson quickly became an important part of the MCU, it seems that Joaquin Torres may not have the same path. Some of Ramirez’s comments about howBrave New Worldgives an answer to this question are interesting, and likely suggest that some outlook of an established Avengers will likely be put together by the end of the film.
“Every Movie That Marvel Has Made”: Anthony Mackie Addresses Rumors Of Excessive Reshoots On Captain America: Brave New World
Captain America: Brave New World’s Anthony Mackie bluntly answered whether or not fans should be concerned about rumors of its extensive reshoots.
Saying “anything goes in this world”, while referring to the possibility ofJoaquin Torres recurring as Falcon, however, is an interesting choice of worlds. This almost seems to suggest that Torres may face some circumstances in the film that would normally leave him unable to return.Based on this, it is possible that Torres becomes a villain or is killed by the end of the film. However, Ramirez still seems eager to return, and this is only speculation. His future as Falcon clearly remains to be seen.

Our Take On Danny Ramirez’s Falcon Comments
The Shape Of Avengers: Doomsday Is Still Being Figured Out
It’s interesting that this new Falcon is not yet confirmed to recur in the MCU, although at this point, very few characters are. Only a handful ofactors are confirmed to appear inAvengers: Doomsday, andrecent comments from Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Evans about their being or not being in it have only made things more confusing. It seems that the shape of the MCU beyondCaptain America: Brave New Worldremains to be seen, and hopefully some order can be found there soon, with or without this new Falcon.
