Despite the jokes, this really was an incredible Force feat. Clearly, given Kylo Ren’s earlier commentary,this type of astral projection was extremely taxing. Yes, Rey was brand-new to using the Force, and this likely informed Kylo Ren’s belief that it would kill her, but that made it clear just how strenuous this Force power was.
No other Force-user could have accomplished such an extensive astral projection.
While it did bring about his end, Luke’s ability to not only astral project but also hold the projection for so long and engage in a ‘fight’ (however minimal the actual fighting may have been) is truly impressive. Undoubtedly, no other Force-user could have accomplished such an extensive astral projection. Although Luke Skywalker’s death inStar Wars: The Last Jedimay have been controversial, Kylo Ren’s foreshadowing reveals how impressive this Force feat was.
