TwoOne Tree Hillstars address the possibility that they will return for the sequel series. The coming-of-age teen drama follows two half-brothers who grapple with their relationship on and off the basketball court in their small town. There were nearly 200 episodesduring its original run, spanning nine seasons from 2003 to 2012. The originalOne Tree Hillcastincluded Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton Morgan, Bethany Joy Lenz, Sophia Bush, and Lee Norris.
Speaking withVariety, Lenz and Lafferty commented on whether they would reprise Haley and Nathan in theOne Tree Hillsequel series.Lenz is ready to play Haley again, saying that she is “absolutely open to being a part of” it. However, the actor did not know what stage the sequel was at and thus was unsure whether she would be involved.Lafferty added that he is professionally focused on his series,Everyone is Doing Great. Check out the full quotes from Joy Lenz and Lafferty:

Lenz: I am absolutely open to being a part of a revisiting to Tree Hill. But as far as this particular one, I don’t know. It’s so early. I don’t know if it’s in pilot, I don’t know if it’s in series. I don’t know where it’s at.
Lafferty: Personally, I’m blown away by the fans that make a conversation like this even possible. Professionally, I’m completely focused on finding ‘Everyone is Doing Great’ Season 2 the right home. Until then, consider me grateful for this moment and cheering everyone on!

What These Statements Mean For The One Tree Hill Sequel
Some Original Stars Are Confirmed Already.
Just this past August, thesequel series forOne Tree Hillwas announced to be in development. While it will have a home on Netflix, Lenz is right that the series is in the very early stages, as no information has been given about a release date or the show’s progress. Original starsBush and Burton Morgan are confirmed to returnto their Brooke and Peyton roles for the sequel. They will also executive produce alongside Danneel Ackles, who is in talks to return as Rachel.
Why Hilarie Burton Left One Tree Hill After Season 6
Hilarie Burton played Peyton Sawyer in the hit CW television series One Tree Hill, but the actress left the show following the season 6 finale.
Although several main cast members have either confirmed or are in talks to return to theOne Tree Hillrevival, not everyone from the original series is coming back. For example,Murray, who portrayed Lucas, does not have plansto return for thesequel. With Lafferty also unsure of his return as Nathan, there is more uncertainty as to who will star in the revival.

Our Take On Lenz & Lafferty’s Return Comments
Naley Is A Major Couple
When it comes to the return of Nathan and Haley, I think one fact is clear; the show cannot bring back one without the other. This couple, coined “Naley,” was one of the most-shipped duos throughout the series, and ultimately ended up together in season 9. Because they are married, it would be hard to include Haley and not Nathan. Perhaps, if Lenz is more willing to appear than Lafferty, Haley could appear in some single-episode cameo. Time will tell as theOne Tree Hillsequel continues development.
