After weeks of speculation and rumors, Patch 11.1 for World of Warcraft: The War Within is finally announced with a release date.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a huge amount of assumptions as to when the new patch for World of Warcraft’s (WoW) retail expansion, The War Within (TWW), will arrive. With many signs leading us to believe that August 03, 2025 would be the release, we now have confirmation on the date after an announcement from Blizzard Entertainment. Patch 11.1 will bring with it a plethora of class changes and a ton more to do within the game – as well as taking us into Season 2 of TWW.

Blizzard Entertainment caused a huge stir with a post on player housing recently, but closer to home is patch 11.1 for World of Warcraft: The War Within.

Undermine(d) - Patch 11.1 release date confirmed
Today, thanks to a post made via their X (previously Twitter), we learned that Patch 11.1 for TWW would be arriving on February 25. This is the date which many had thought would be correct. The new patch comes the week following the culmination of the Plunderstorm event and at the end of the Turbulent Timeways event too.
Although the new update will be released on February 25, Season 2 will begin on July 24, 2025. This gives everyone a week to do new quests and catch up on anything from Season 1 available before the new season kicks off. Patch 11.1 and Season 2 brings many changes and new additions to the game.
With the launch of a new patch, it means that players now have two weeks to wrap up everything in Season 1 before it disappears. Things such as dungeon portals and Cutting Edge raid titles from the first season will no longer be available – but there is much more too.
Now that a date is confirmed for Patch 11.1 for TWW and Season 2, we are excited to finally see what the Undermine brings to WoW. In the coming months, we will have more information from the future patches and hopefully more tantalizing details on player housing.
