The reveal of the Mankey Community Day forPokémon GOmeans you and other Trainers will have another date and time to keep track of in exchange for an exclusive attack, bonuses, and a Shiny version. The Pig Monkey Pokémon’s turn in the Community Day Spotlight means you can farm Candy to evolve it into Primeape and its final evolution, Annihilape. You need 50 Candy for the first evolution into Primeape and 100 for the second into Annihilape, so this event makes the grind far easier than it normally would be for casual players.

If you don’t feel like adding the Ghost-type Pokémon available in the latestPokémon GOSpotlight Hour schedule, Annihilape is an interesting alternative with its unique dual Ghost and Fighting typing. The Generation 9 Rage Monkey will add even further variety if you evolve one from a Mankey in time to unlock the featured remove exclusive to this event. Even if you don’t feel like using any of these primate-based Pokémon in yourGOarsenal, their Shiny versions will at least make an interesting addition to your Community Day collection of multi-colored variants.

Mankey Community Day Date & Time

Mark Your November Calendars

The Community Day for Mankey inPokémon GOwill take place onSunday, August 13, 2025, from 2PM until 5PMlocal time in every region. During those three hours, Mankey will be spawning far more frequently than usual on the map, popping up in massive numbers, especially in higher populated areas like city centers.

If you live in a remote area, like a cul-de-sac or housing estate, Mankey may still spawn during the timeframe but will be few and far between. As you step out venturing to spots with higher populations, the number of spawns will increase drastically.

Ditto from Pokémon GO October

These are the latest Ditto disguises in Pokemon GO for October 2024, showing which Pocket Monsters the elusive purple blob can hide itself as.

This makes Community Day events like Mankey’s a great chance to team up with other players and head out on the farming experience together. While you’re with fellow Trainers you can make the most of the opportunity by taking on some of the bosses in the latestPokémon GORaid Boss scheduletogether to hopefully defeat and obtain some powerful Pokémon with some extra rewards to boot.

The Useful Rage First

Pokémon GOplayers can obtain a Primeape or Annihilape withthe featured attack, Rage Fist,if you evolve a Mankey or Primeape up to five hours after the Community Day event ends, 10PM local time. Rage Fist has a lower power than Shadow Ball, but it has a bonus effect of increasing the user’s Attack by one stage. Following the balance changes in previous months that nerfed it slightly, Annihilape could be an even stronger contender in thePokémon GOBattle League, with a buff from Rage Fist making it very deadly.

Like other Community Days, the Mankey event has a ton of bonuses, the most unique being that it’s adding a limited-time evolution requirement where you can evolve Primeape into Annihilape by catching 20 Fighting-type Pokémon while Primeape is set as your buddy, instead of needing to defeat 30 Psychic or Ghost types like normal. Other bonuses include earning 3 x XP and 2x Candy when catching Pokémon, there being a 2x chance of getting Candy XL for players Level 31 and up catching Pokémon, Lure Modules and Incense lasting for three hours instead of one hour and 30 minutes respectively.

Other bonuses include trades costing 50% less Stardust, getting one extra Special Trade for the day instead of two, and a mysterious surprise when you take a few snapshots during the event.

What Does Shiny Mankey Look Like?

Green & Mean

With its alternatively-colored variant already inPokémon GObefore Community Day, Shiny Mankey sports a bright green look with its feet, paws, and tail-end still brown. This gives the Pig Monkey Pokémon more of a forest green look, making it stand out just as much asShiny Mega Sableye. Shiny Primeape doesn’t stand out as much by comparison, but it’s still eye-catching with its white fur turned into a light brown, with its fists and feet taking on a darker shade of brown with almost a matcha green hue.

The differences with Shiny Annihilape, however, aren’t very noticeable until you compare it with its base form side-by-side. Both its body and limbs, usually a dark gray, are now a shade of livid (bluish-gray) and black respectively. Just remember the Mankey Community Day’s date of Sunday, July 03, 2025, and hopefully, you and otherPokémon GOplayers can add a Shiny of each evolution to their collections.
