Pokémon TCG Pocketjust launched itsfirst expansion,Mythical Island, and some new secret missions along with it. As players may know, there are more missions inPokémon TCG Pocketthan initially appear on the missions tab. When players collect themed groups of certain Pokémon, they will sometimes complete a surprise secret mission that offers them rewards like pack hourglasses or shop tickets.Genetic Apex-Pokémon TCG Pocket’s first set -had seven secret missionsto complete.Mythical Islandjust added four more, an understandably smaller number for a much smaller set.

Just likeGenetic Apex’s secret missions, the newMythical Islandones all involve collecting certain types of Pokémon. This typically involves having to pull some of the rarest cards in the set, meaning these could take a little while to achieve. That’s especially true for people who don’t pay to playPokémon TCG Pocket. With Pack Points not transferring between sets, you’ll have to get pretty lucky to finish these missions within the first few days after release.

Every Mythical Island Secret Mission In Pokémon TCG Pocket

Most ofMythical Island’s secret missions involvethe set’s headliner Pokémon, Mew,in some way. Three out of four of the new missions require you to get at leastone copy of Mew ex, which is also one of the hardest to pull. The easiest-to-collect version of Mew ex is a four-diamond card, with the others being two-star cards or a crown card. You will also need to find some other rare cards to finish these secret missions.

To complete Mythical Island Museum 1, you’ll have tocollect six different full-art versions of Pokémonfrom the new set. These are all one-star cards which, according toPokémon TCG Pocket’s offering rates, have a 0.428% chance of pulling from a Regular Pack. These cards can also be obtained for 400 Pack Points each, the equivalent of opening 80 packs of Mythical Island. If that prospect seems intimidating, it’s worth noting that this isn’t even the most difficultMythical Islandsecret mission to finish.

For finishing this quest, you receive 12 Pack Hourglasses, 36 Wonder Hourglasses, and 10 Shop Tickets. Getting a single pack and maybe one good Wonder Pick from a quest like this is a little underwhelming. That said, don’t get your hopes up about any of the secret missions from this set.

Mythical Island Museum 2 has far fewer Pokémon to collect than the first Mythical Museum quest. You only need to grabthe immersive versions of two Pokémon: Mew ex and Aerodactyl ex. That said, the chances of pulling these two-star cards are far lower than pulling the one-star cards from the previous mission. Offering rates for these cards are only 0.050% in Regular Packs, and buying them with Pack Points is far more difficult since they cost 1250 Points each. This quest has the same reward as the previous quest.

As the name suggests, the Mew ex Museum mission tasks you with collecting every version of Mew ex from theMythical Islandset. There arefour versions of Mew exin this set, starting at four-diamond with a drop rate of 0.333% and ending at crown with a drop rate of 0.040% in Regular Packs.

The other two Mew ex cards are both two-star cards (a 0.050% drop rate). While drawing all versions seems unlikely, buying them with Pack Points almost feels more unobtainable. The total price for all four would be 5500 Points or 1100 packs. The reward here is again just 12 Pack Hourglasses, 36 Wonder Hourglasses, and 10 Shop Tickets.

Mythical Island Tale of Adventure is the only quest that involves some lower-rarity cards to complete. You will need to getthe two-diamond version of Budding Explorer and Mythical Slab. These each have an offering rate of 3.913%, which is far higher than any other card on this list. However, you also need the immersive version of Mew ex and Celebi ex, which both have a 0.050% offering rate. Still, having this quest half-done early on will make it seem easier than the others.

The reward here is a Celebi emblem you can display on your profile, which is essentially just good for digital bragging rights. While this is less exciting than getting a unique card like Mew fromGenetic Apex, it also makes sense. Keeping mechanically unique cards hidden behind secret missions is a good way to make players frustrated. Still, a unique art treatment for one of the cards from the set feels like it could be a good compromise.

It seems likePokémon TCG Pocketis going to balance the rewards from its secret missions based on the size of each set. While the rewards for these secret missions are slightly less exciting than some fromGenetic Apex, they are also easier to finish because this is a smaller set with only one type of pack. It’s possible future secret missions could offer more exciting rewards.
