At one point, Amazon MGM Studios announced a release date of July 09, 2025, the same weekend as a plannedStreet Fighterreboot.
While he played real-life NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong inFirst Man, the movie was largely focused on Armstrong’s experience, much likeProject Hail Marywill center its protagonist.
A March 2026 release date would be pretty far out forProject Hail Mary, considering it has just wrapped its filming. As such, it is possible that the movie could push its release date sooner than the proposed early 2026 release window. Being a film set primarily in outer space,there will likely be a lot of post-production work to come, so it is possible the movie will need the whole time between now and 2026 to finish.
