Marvel is home to some of the most powerful sorcerers in the universe such as the Avengers’Scarlet Witchand the former Sorcerer Supreme,Doctor Strange. But in an unexpected reveal, Marvel just answered which magic-wielding superhero has the superior magic.
In a recently revealed preview ofOne World Under Doom#1 - from Ryan North and R.B. Silva - the Avengers are breaking into Latvia to stop Doctor Doom, now Sorcerer Supreme, from taking over the world. Scarlet Witch attempts to take down Doctor Doom’s magic dome but saysit will take her weeks to conjure a spell that would even weaken the shield, specifically because it’s imbued with Sorcerer Supreme magic.
While the Scarlet Witch has massivelyupgraded her incredible powers by consuming the Darkhold, this moment reveals thatshe’s still significantly weaker than the Sorcerer Supreme. Scarlet Witch is among Earth’s strongest magic users with her literal world-shattering abilities but, even with all her mind-bending powers, Wanda’s inherent magic can’t match the bump that figures like Strange and Doom get from holding the Sorcerer Supreme mantle.

Wanda is one of the strongest magic users on Earth as she’s mastered the art of chaos magic and merged with the Darkhold, one of the most dangerous mystical artifacts in the Marvel Universe. When the Scarlet Witch merged with the god Chthon and the Darhold, Wanda acquired godly abilities of which the full extent has yet to be unveiled, butdespite this seemingly limitless power, Doctor Doom’s Sorcerer Supreme magic is still far, far stronger. Considering Wanda’s godlike power, it would make sense she would be the superior magic user, but the Sorcerer Supreme enjoys the backing ofthe three-part god/s known as the Vishanti, apparently far surpassing the power Wanda can draw from the Darkhold.
As powerful as Wanda is, Doctor Strange is capable of operating on the same level as godlike entities like Eternity and Nightmare. Now, Doctor Doom is on the same level.
Scarlet Witch has mastered Chaos Magic, however Doctor Strange has an even wider field of study. He’s capable of operating on the same level asgodlike entities like Eternity and Nightmare, and even managed to harness the Enigma Force. It makes sense that with the heightened powers of the Sorcerer Supreme’s artifacts - chiefly the Eye of Agamotto - and the backing of various supernatural deities, he tops out at an even higher power level than Wanda. Of course, that’s when he’s the Sorcerer Supreme - inBlood Hunt,Doctor Doom stole that title and its accompanying upgrades, lessening Strange and elevating the Latverian director far beyond both him and the Scarlet Witch.
