Stardew Valley’s ownMarnieis notoriously difficult to find. It always seems to happen at the worst possible times, too: the animals are angry, there’s nothing in their troughs, the silos are empty, there’s no more grass on the farm. The player’s only option is to rush down to Marnie’s Ranch and dump a significant amount of their money into piles and piles ofHay, but they arrive, only to find no one at the front desk and Marnie nowhere to be seen for miles.
It’s a known fact thatMarnie has some secretseven a friendship with her won’t reveal. There’s her poorly-hidden relationship withLewis, for example, which frequently leads to embarrassing discoveries and awkward encounters. But perhaps her greatest kept secret is her irregular schedule. Whether they desperately need hay or just want to drop off a birthday gift, here’s when players can actually, reliably find Marnie inStardew Valley.

When Is Marnie’s Shop Open?
Marnie’s Ranch Hours & Holidays
Ostensibly, according to the sign on her door,Marnie’s Ranch is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, from Wednesday through Sunday. This can be somewhat confusing, because her barn doors are technically open until 6:00 PM. However, players will have to arrive by 4:00 PM if they actually want to purchase anything from her.
“Pure Profit”: Stardew Valley Player Becomes A Millionaire Without Ever Leaving The Farm
Stardew Valley has several things a player can focus on, like farming, ranching, or relationships. In fact, you don’t even have to leave the farm.
She’s regularly closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, butMarnie also takes off a few days sporadically throughout the year. She has special schedules on Fall 18 (her birthday), and Winter 18; she also closes up shop on Spring 17 once the bus is repaired andthe Calico Desert is unlocked. She’ll also typically take off on green rain days during Year One.

Fridays and Sundays are typically good days to visit Marnie’s Ranch, as the player can also stop at the nearby Traveling Cart to purchase a wide variety of items.
Do note that, beginning in Year Two, Marnie’s hours basically become irrelevant. That’s because she’ll start selling a special book in her shop called theAnimal Cataloguewhich, once read, allows the player to buy things from Marnie’s shop even when she’s not technically open. This means they can purchase anything from her inventory any time they can access her house - in other words, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 every day of the week. This can be a lifesaver on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Marnie’s other random days off, but won’t help with late-night or early-morning hay purchases, so it’s still important to plan ahead.

When & Where To Find Marnie
On any day besides a Monday, Tuesday, or the special occasions listed above, the best place to find Marnie is inside her house. She’ll be in her bedroom until opening at 9:00 AM. After closing, she’ll head directly to the Stardrop Saloon, where she’ll remain with Mayor Lewis until 11. Do note thatMarnie will typically skip the saloon on rainy Thursdays, instead preferring to stay in her room. On Winter 16, she goes to the Night Market after closing instead.
On Mondays, Marnie remains in her room until 8:10 AM, at which point she walks to Pierre’s. She remains there shopping until 12:00 PM, when she walks home and remains there for the rest of the day.On Tuesdays, she instead heads to Pierre’s around 10:00 AM for her weekly exercise class; she can be found in the back area until 6:10 PM, at which point she heads home for the night. On green rain days in Year One, Marnie will be closed, but she can still be found at home. Once the Beach Resort is unlocked, Marnie may randomly choose to spend her Mondays or Tuesdays there instead, remaining on Ginger Island until 6:00 PM.

On her birthday, Fall 18,Marnie heads to Harvey’s at 10:30 AM for her yearly checkup. She’s there until 4:00 PM, at which point she heads back home and remains there for the night. On Winter 18, she takes Jas to her own appointment at Harvey’s, which also lasts until 4:00, when the two walk home together.
Finally, on Spring 17, if the bus has been rebuilt bycompleting the Vault Bundles or buying the Bus Repair perk at JojaMart,Marnie gets on the bus to the Desert Festival at 10:50 AM, where she stays next to the Trader until 11:40 PM. If she’s randomly selected as a Desert Festival vendor, she’ll be available for shopping between 11:30 AM and 12:00 AM, selling Wallpaper, a stack of 100Grass Starters, a stack of 150 Hay, and a bottle ofTruffle Oil.
It’s still possible to talk to or give gifts to Marnie when she’s working, either at home or at the Desert Festival; just walk around the counter and interact with her from the back or side.
And with that, players should be able to find Marnie almost anytime, so long as they’re looking in the right place. Marnie is an incredibly useful merchant with a rewarding (if sordid) storyline, so she’s one of the betterStardew ValleyNPCs to interact with early and often.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is a charming indie farming scene that took the world by storm. After inheriting a run-down farm from their grandfather, the player moves to Stardew Valley to start a new life away from the city. Grow crops, raise animals, befriend the villagers, and discover the secrets the valley has to offer.
