If they were brought here for the same purpose, then the town might be trying to interfere by replicating the Kavanaughs' destinies, which would imply that the town wants to kill Tabitha and Julie at some point. However, Tabitha’s ability to reach the lighthouse, which Miranda couldn’t do, suggests they can still fight back against their past selves’ dark fates, even if the town is trying to ensure otherwise.
