Sinister 2

Sinister 2 is a supernatural horror thriller by director Ciaran Foy and follows a mother and her twin sons who have recently moved to the country to escape her husband’s abuse. When one of the twins begins to receive visits from ghostly children that show him prior families murdered in the home, the family becomes marked for death. To survive, the family will lean on a former deputy familiar with the curse of the demonic entity.

Director Ciaran Foy’sSinister 2is the 2015 sequelto 2012’s Sinister,and both are considered highly underrated supernatural horrors by the franchise’s fanbase. American Mary, directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska, follows Mary Mason, a medical student drawn into the world of underground surgeries and body modification. Starring Katharine Isabelle, the film explores themes of ambition, vengeance, and the desire for control.

2012’sAmerican Maryis a great body-horror movie, though its creepy twins aren’t central to the plot. However, they are both incredibly memorable and unsettlingly scary. Directors Jen and Sylvia Soska cameo in the movie as two demonic twins from Berlin.The twins inAmerican Maryare incredibly creepy, especially with their obsessive fascination with both body modification and with one another.

American Maryis extreme, and much of the content is incredibly disturbing, though depicted so well with prosthetic effects that the response from critics was, by and large, positive. It’s definitely not a horror movie with twins in for the faint of heart, but those who appreciate gore and adult themes will findAmerican Maryan incredible ride. It’s the definition of gross-out body horror, and it has some interesting commentary on society’s obsession with body image too.

Seconds Apart

Seconds Apart is a psychological horror film featuring twins Seth and Jonah, who possess telekinetic powers. As mysterious deaths plague their school, the brothers' bond deteriorates under the strain of jealousy and mistrust, culminating in a fateful confrontation. The film explores themes of power, sibling rivalry, and moral ambiguity.

Telepathy is a feature of many horror movies with twins in, as the idea of identical siblings sharing a psychic link is unnerving in and of itself. However, few manage to make twins who can read one another’s thoughts quite as harrowing as seconds apart. Alone is a Thai horror film directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom. The film centers around Pim, who is tormented by the ghost of her conjoined twin sister, Ploy, after moving to South Korea. As Pim’s life unravels, the sinister presence of her deceased sister grows stronger, leading to a confrontation with her haunting past.

There are manygreat Thai horror movies, and one of them also stands as one of the best evil twin movies. 2007’sAlonecomes from directors Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom, with the movie winning the pair awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing at the LA Screamfest Horror Film Festival. It’s an incredibly effective horror film that blends elements from several different subgenres. It’s also one of the few movies about identical siblings that focuses on conjoined twins.

Tin and Tina by the pool

Pim and Ploy (both played by Marsha Vadhanapanich inAlone)are conjoined siblings who become surgically separated. The procedure goes horribly wrong, only Pim survives. Tin & Tina

Tin & Tina follows the story of Lola and Adolfo, a couple grappling with the aftermath of a traumatic miscarriage. They adopt Tin and Tina, an albino brother and sister whose strict ultra-Catholic upbringing leads them to interpret the Bible literally, creating unforeseen challenges for the family.

2023’sTin & Tinaisa religious horror moviefrom director Rubin Stein, and it’s laced with many disturbing psychological elements that work incredibly well for building up slow, atmospheric dread. The creepy twins inTin & Tinaare played by child actors Carlos Gonzales Morollon and Anastasia Russo, and as Tin and Tina they are incredibly unsettling.

The plot ofTin & Tinasees the titular twins adopted by Lola (Milena Smit) and Adolfo (Jaimes Lorente). The siblings are incredibly religiously devout, but as Lola indulges in her foster children’s passion for their faith, she notices their beliefs and practices become increasingly harrowing and violent.It’s a film that makes a lot of comments on the nature of religion, though this doesn’t stop the many moments that the titular evil twins inTin & Tinaterrorize Lola and Adolfo any less terrifying.
