Contains Spoilers for The Ultimates (2024) #10!Marvel’s newest version of theAvengershave come together to fight problems that they couldn’t solve alone, and their perfect new catchphrase is emblematic of what makes this team unique. This is a team that is committed to fighting injustice wherever it rears its head, and that means treating every fight like it means the world – because it does.
InThe Ultimates#10 – written by Deniz Camp with art by Juan Frigeri –Hawkeye states that“It’s all one fight”when it comes to taking down this world’s bad guys, which is the perfect summation of what the titular team are trying to doin saving this world.

In the issue, Tony Starkjumps on comms mid-way into a mission to take out some Neo-Nazis, and questions why the team are going after a smaller target instead of the powers-that-be. As Hawkeye argues, every struggle is the same struggle, pieces of a larger whole that makes up the world’s injustices.
The Ultimates Treat All The World’s Problems As Part Of A Larger Struggle
The Ultimates#10 – Written By Deniz Camp; Art By Juan Frigeri; Color By Federico Blee; Lettering By Travis Lanham
“It’s all one fight"is the perfect catchphrase for the Ultimates, who’ve described themselves less as a team, and more as a “network.“TheUltimates#9 previously illustrated this philosophy perfectly throughthe story of Luke Cage, who’s making it his mission to destroy for-profit prisons, andis willing to keep being imprisoneduntil they’re all gone. As he explains to Tony by paraphrasing civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer, “I can’t get free until everybody’s free”. While injustice still exists, the fight is never over.
Marvel Is Poised to Kill an Original Avenger, But I’m Begging Them Not To
The death of a founding Avenger has been teased in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, but we’re among the fans desperately hoping it isn’t true.
In thecontext of theUltimate Marvel Universe, this is a catchphrase that has even wider implications. The Ultimates#8featuredthe future Guardians of the Galaxyargue the exact same point as Tony does inUltimates#10, only on a larger scale, saying that the struggles against modern-day repression were small concerns when compared to broader universe-threatening events. However, Tony uses this same argument to justify the opposite perspective; hence, “it’s all one fight"If the Ultimates’ fight ends up solving the Guardians’ broader problem as well, then that would be proof positive of the phrase’s worth.

What Struck Me Most About Marvel’s Ultimate Replacement For “Avengers Assemble” Are Its Real-World Implications
“It’s All One Fight” Could Be A Potent Slogan For Actual Activists
As a reader, I think that in a real-world context,“it’s all one fight” is a useful slogan. Some strains of thinking prioritize fixing one type of problem, assuming other problems will be fixed by virtue of solving the one. For example, class reductionists argue that dismantling capitalism should supersede any other contemporary issues, including immediate struggles for civil rights. Yes, the issues are interlinked, but that is exactly why all of them have to be fixed. These are intersectional problems;“it’s all one fight,” not just for the newest version of theAvengers, but for real life as well.
