Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective franchise has seen numerous adaptations over the years, including the Guy Ritchie filmSherlock Holmeswith Robert Downey Jr. and theBBC seriesSherlock. Amelia is described as a Native-American woman and thus would not have the same backstory as the literary Joanna, even if she is confirmed to be Sherlock’s daughter.
