Coming before the ending of season 3, it was confirmed in October 2024 thatThe Legend of Vox Machinaseason 4 has been renewed.Prime Video wasted no time in renewing the popular animated fantasy series, and it comes more than a year after the announcement of anotherCritical Roleadaptation,The Mighty Nein. To help make the announcement, several cast members from the show appeared in avideo, thanking fans for supporting the show thus far.
Speaking for the entire creative team behind the show, producer Sam Riegel celebrated the new season in the following statement.
We are beyond thrilled – and grateful – to continue the epic and wild adventures of Vex, Vax, Keyleth, Percy, Pike, Grog and everyone’s favorite character – Scanlan. With each season, this show levels up, and we already have big plans to level up both our heroes and villains in Season Four.
Additionally, Amazon’s head of animation, Melissa Wolfe issued her own statement, praising the success of the animated series.

Vox Machina Will Reunite In Season 4
Though the ending of season 3 saw the entire adventure party go their separate ways, they will likely reunite to face the new threat going into season 4.The cast ofThe Legend of Vox Machinais made up of the voice actors featured inCritical Role, andthey’ll once again be on hand to reprise their roles in the animated series as well. This means Laura Bailey will return to voice the half-elf ranger, Vex, alongside the newly-resurrected Percy, played by Taliesin Jaffe. Furthermore, Ashley Johnson’s gnome cleric, Pike, will be on hand again, as will Liam O’Brien’s Vax.
Marisha Ray will be back as Keyleth, the half-elf druid, while Sam Riegel will play the hedonistic gnome bard, Scanlan. Providing some muscle for the team, Travis Willingham’s Grog will return, as will the loveable bear companion, Trinket (voiced byCritical Role’s Dungeon Master, Matthew Mercer).

In the massive season 3 finale, the team was able to finally (and perhaps completely) defeat the demon Orthax who has been vexing them since the first season. With that villain out of the way, a new threat has already emerged when it was revealed thatThe Whispered One has been building up power by capturing the souls of victims. The Whispered One (also known as Vecna in officialDungeons & Dragonslore) is perhaps one of the most fearsome foes in the franchise, and it will take the combined might of Vox Machina to defeat him.
After defeating Orthax, the team is scattered to the winds on their own adventures, but romances have begun to blossom, and Vax is already paying the steep price to resurrect Percy. Suffering from a zombie necrosis in his arm, Vax could die quickly as a result of his heroic efforts to save Percy, though the team could also summon up some sort of magic to rescue him.
