Colossus' betrayal puts Wolverine on the road to revenge - and pushes Sabretooth into a surprising new role.

Wolverine brutally kills Omega Red, Deadpool, Colossus, and even maims Sabretooth. While it seems that revenge has been served and everything is over, the story then skips ahead several decades. Now an older man,Wolverine visits the wounded Sabretoothonce a year, who now uses Charles Xavier’s iconic hover chair due to his injuries. While Wolverine only keeps Sabretooth alive to make him suffer, Sabretooth finds a surprising new group of allies to rely on,making him a pseudo-Professor X.

Sabretooth is using these young mutants as weapons against Wolverine in a complete perversion of Professor X’s original teachings…

Somehow,Sabretoothhas made contact with a group of young mutant clones, known as the Omega Clan. Each one was cloned from the original Omega Red, as well as Colossus’s teenage son. Professor X has always tried to guide young mutants through their growing powers and teach them how to exist in this world. In a twist on this character archetype, Sabretooth is using these young mutants as weapons against Wolverine in a complete perversion of Professor X’s original teachings, and it’s not surprising that someone as evil as Victor Creed would do so.

Living in Harmony Is the Last Thing He Wants

Professor X has been fighting for decades to try and create harmony between mutants and humankind. His methods haven’t always been great, and it’s arguable if he’s actually made any progress, but he at least tries to make the world better, which isn’t the case for Sabretooth. He’s a man so full of hate and a desire for violence thathe won’t let anything stop him from tormenting Wolverine. Even after most of his limbs have been cut off, and he’s no longer the fearsome Sabretooth, Victor Creed still won’t give up trying to make Wolverine suffer.

There are some pretty terrible mentors in superhero comics, but it’s hard to imagine anyone worse than Sabretooth. He’s a man who’s entirely defined by hatred and violence, and now he’s trying to achieve his goals by guiding a young group of mutants to enact the revenge he can’t get himself. While Wolverine certainly didn’t help matters by killing Omega Red and Colossus, they arguably had it coming.
