OneStar Warscosplayer has perfectly captured Twi’lek Jedi Master Aayla Secura’s iconic look from the prequel trilogy. Although Aayla Secura is not one of the most prominent Jedi inStar Warsmovies and TV shows, she remains a fan-favorite Jedi. In fact, even if Aayla Secura is not largely considered one ofStar Wars’most powerful Jedi, she certainly stands out as one of few Twi’leks to be among the ranks of the Jedi Order.
That Twi’lek identity is also part of what makes this stunningStar Warscosplay all the more impressive. This is no easy look to execute, yet this Aayla Secura cosplay, posted bysailorvirgoon Instagram, does so perfectly.

It’s particularly delightful to see Aayla Secura represented in such a positive way, as she, like other Twi’lek women before her, sadly fell victim to being hypersexualized in the franchise until recently—although, that is far from the darkest part of Aayla Secura’sStar Warshistory.
Star Wars Rebels Fixed A 41-Year-Old Return Of The Jedi Mistake
A glaring Star Wars problem that had begun decades before in Return of the Jedi was finally resolved through one new character in Star Wars Rebels.
Aayla Secura’s Star Wars Death Is One Of The Most Haunting
Yes, Aayla Secura’s story is undoubtedly linked to the history ofStar Warssexualizing Twi’lek characters (which was disrupted to a certain extent by Aayla but much more so by Hera Syndulla), butAayla’sStar Warsstory is troubling for a much darker reason, too. Specifically, Aayla Secura’s Order 66 death was one of the most disturbing in all ofStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. In fact, that death is sadly one of the most well-known aspects of Aayla’s character.
Undoubtedly, the moment when Anakin Skywalker ignites his lightsaber in the room full of scared younglings is the darkest Order 66 moment inRevenge of the Sith. Yet, Aayla Secura’s execution by her clone troopers is also terribly haunting. As was shown inRevenge of the Sithduring the Order 66 sequence, Aayla Secura was walking with her clone troopers when they received the order and began gunning her down. However, what made this all the worse was that, even once Aayla went down, her clone troopers just kept shooting.
In fact, this death in particular called into question whether the clone troopers really wanted to execute the Jedi. InRevenge of the Sith, it wasn’t clear why the troopers turned on the Jedi, other than Palpatine’s order. Finally, inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, it was revealed that the clones had been created with inhibitor chips that would force them to follow the command against their will. In fact,The Clone Warsrevealed thatOrder 66 was the clones' worst nightmare.
Until that confirmation, though,Aayla Secura’s execution seemed like compelling evidence that the troopers maliciously turned on the Jedi. Luckily, that wasn’t the case, but Aayla’s death nevertheless remains one of the most difficult to watch inRevenge of the Sith. In light of that complex, at times tragic history, it really is wonderful to see thisStar Warscosplay represent Aayla Secura so positively.
