In this case, however, it is aboutconnecting dots literally by drawing lines between two of them. Connect enough, and you will make a very pretty picture that looks very different from the assortment of dots it was before. So far, my favorite version of this was a pretty coffee pot in blues and greens.

Today’s Connections Category Hints
SEPTEMBER 22 #468
Today’s puzzle will take some pattern recognition for some very specific things. You will have to be at least somewhat familiar with the categories to guess them, which is true with every puzzle, but in this case, the categories are not solely dependent on your knowledge of definitionsbut rather on what the words are associated by. This can sometimes make the puzzle more challenging, so we have some hints for you to make it a little easier:

The Spelling Bee puzzles created as a New York Times game build a streak of correct answers to get you more points, but they can be hard to keep.
If you want to do a bit more, you can ensure your victory bylooking at the category names. In today’s case, that is likely all you need to finish the puzzle, but we still have the spoilers and some explanations below if you feel you need them.

NEUTRAL
PASTEL
This category has a nice color pattern and was more obvious for me to spot than it can be. GRAYSCALE is a bit of an odd word for everyday conversation, andit is exactly those types of words that can make it easier to spot a pattern. NEUTRAL might be the hardest for non-artists to spot, as it is not just a color. However, it also refers to colors that can go with almost anything. I personally find color theory to be fascinating, and it has helped me out here.
SAVE
Your familiarity withdocument menu optionswill be crucial to solving this category without help, but I spend a lot of time in endless Word documents. PRINT and SAVE caught my attention here and made me look for other options related to computer menus. Today, no other words fit the bill for this category beyond the four that do. That makes it a little less frustrating to solve and can lead to fewer wrong guesses as well.
Wordle History: Today’s Answer & All Past Words
Wordle is a simple daily word game that has taken the internet by storm. With only 6 chances to get the right answer, players may need a little help.
POOL
RAFFLE
This category I noticed before I got the green category, mostly from seeing both LOTTERY and RAFFLE together. DRAWING was next, with POOL giving me the most trouble. There were not many words that could fit in there, but it is rare that I hear that use of the word. It did not take long, but I was stumped for a moment while looking over the remaining words. When you are stuck, the best thing to do islook at every word and dismiss the ones that don’t make senseto spot the winner.
ANSWER
I came to this one last as I managed to spot the other ones first, but I felt like I should have spotted earlier betweenSCULPTURE and ALLOY. Solving the puzzle is never a bad thing, and I was just happy to finish this one. SUNTAN and THIRD came to me a little slower after I saw the final four words, and then I realized what they both meant. Either way, it’s another puzzle down and one more to look forward to tomorrow.
