Heading into its 2025 season,Valoranthas revealed its newest playable character, Tejo, the game’s first Colombian agent, whose abilities focus on explosives and area-of-effect. Initially launched in 2020,Valoranthas proven to be a massive success for Riot Games, and is, so far, still the studio’s only ongoing game that isn’t associated with theLeague of Legendsbrand. With the start of the game’s new season just a few days away, Riot has revealed gameplay for its 26th agent.

As revealed in agameplay reveal traileron YouTube,Tejo is the seventh Initiator to be added toValorant, specializing in setting up teammates to make offensive plays with explosive abilities that serve as crowd control and area denial. Tejo is being added to the game with its 10.0 patch and will be released on January 8 for players to unlock. In addition to Tejo,Valorant’s newest season is also bringing some major changesto the game, including a new cosmetic type and structural changes to its ranked seasons.

Tejo Brings Mass Explosive Action To Valorant

Valorant’s Newest Agent Is An Explosive Initiator

Valorant’s newest agent,Tejo, has a kit focused around using explosives to disrupt enemies, clear space for allies, and generally control the map. His first ability, Special Delivery, allows him to equip a grenade that sticks to the first surface it hits, inflicting the Concussed status on any targets it hits. Using alternate fire with the grenade equipped will cause it to bounce once instead of sticking. Stealth Drone, Tejo’s second ability, and the only one that doesn’t involve something exploding, sends out a remote-controlled drone that can Suppress and Reveal enemies.

Is Valorant Free-To-Play On Xbox & PlayStation?

Valorant likely owes some of its continued success on PC to its free-to-play status, but is the tactical FPS also free on PlayStation and Xbox?

Tejo’s third ability is Guided Salvo, which allows him to fire missiles at two targets that he can select on the map. Finally, Tejo’s ultimate is Armageddon, another map-targeted ability that allows Tejo to call down an airstrike, originating at the first selected point and ending at the second. Tejo’s kit has drawn some comparisons to his fellow Initiator Breach, but his lack of flash and Breach’s line AOE abilities should impart some significant differences in how each agent plays.

Valorant’s 2025 Season Is About To Start

Valorant’s Newest Season Is Making Major Changes To Its Ranked Structure

Beginning on January 8,Valorant’s 2025 season will introduce a major shakeup to the structure of the game’s ranked play, getting rid of the six-month Episodes in favor of a year-long Season - though, functionally, it’s not entirely clear how much of a change this will be, since the hard reset of player ranks will still occur at an “upcoming midseason moment,” according to the10.0 Patch Notes. The Season will have six Acts, which previously would have been split between Episodes, which will, as usual, function as “soft” rank resets and map rotations.

With Arcane Finished, Riot Games Needs to Give Us a Valorant Anime

Valorant is one of Riot’s most successful games and the perfect candidate for an anime adaptation following the success of Arcane.

Valorant’s 2025 season also promises updates to matchmaking, a mobile version of the game, and a long-awaited replay system, though players will have to wait longer for these features to be introduced. With the introduction of Tejo, and a new Season,Valorantcan hopefully keep up its momentum heading into the game’s fifth year as a live service.
