WandaVisionsaw the return of Vision to theMarvel Cinematic Universeafter hisdeath inAvengers: Infinity Warin a new white body, raising questions about where the character is now. Whilequestions about Scarlet Witch’s deathhave continued to circulate, especially with the release ofAgatha All Along, little attention in the MCU has been given to this new iteration of Vision.Built by S.W.O.R.D., the new version of the hero character has been given insufficient focus in the universe, although that is set to change in an upcoming series.

Though there are plenty ofupcoming Marvel movies, Disney’s mandate for Marvel Studios to slow down their release slate has led to significant delays on the TV side.Series likeIronhearthave been delayed, and it took several years forAgatha All Alongto essentially serve as afollow-up toWandaVision.Marvel intends to release aWonder Manseries in the coming years, and has had a lot of focus on theirDaredevilreboot/sequel, titledDaredevil: Born Again. One series currently slated for 2026, however, may be even bigger than all of these.

White Vision Regained Vision’s Memories And Left Westview

The Character Was Rebuilt In WandaVision

Theending ofWandaVisionsaw the new White Vision essentially becoming the Vision that had been shown in previous films. While his journey to Westview, and his conflict with the conjured Vision from Wanda’s mind, were a large component of the episode, they culminated with reflections on being, and the construction of the self. After philosophical discussions on the Ship of Theseus, White Vision was able to take Vision’s memories. Following this, he departed Westview.

Where this leaves the hero now has not been given much focus in the MCU. Like several other heroes, including Shang-Chi, Vision has not been given enough focus since his last appearance. With so many projects in the works, it has been difficult for the MCU to focus on everything they have set up. Questions remain about White Vision’s future after leaving Westview, including where he has gone and what for. Seeing how this new version of Vision adjusts to his life as a recreation is a compelling proposition.

White Vision Hasn’t Been Seen In The MCU Since WandaVision

Three Years Have Passed Since Vision’s Last Appearance

With Vision essentially recreated, it is surprising that the hero has not been seen in the MCU since. With follow-up series likeAgatha All Alongto address Agatha’s story, andDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessto wrap up Wanda’s story, this is a strange omission. The MCU has done some reshaping and restructuring in recent years, which may have impacted this; however, White Vision’s introduction with no follow-up also feels like their recentMCU credits problemof introducing things that never pay off.

With films likeEternals,Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, andDeadpool & Wolverinereleased in the universe in the three years since, there were certainly places White Vision could have appeared in the MCU.Even in series likeMs. MarvelandThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, details of the character could have been addressed. Instead, little has been heard from him since. However that is set to change in 2026.

White Vision Returns In The 2026 MCU TV Show

The Series Has Been Referred To As Vision Quest

An upcoming Disney+series aboutVisionis set to be released in 2026as the only known show in Phase 6 so far.Terry Matalas ofStar Trek: Picardhas signed on as showrunner for the program, which will see White Vision contending with his new body and his new life.Few details are known about the series at this time, which has sometimes been referred to asVision Quest, although it does plan on bringing back an iconic villain from a previous Marvel film.

James Spader has signed on to play Ultron in the series, presumably as the main antagonist. The conflict between Vision and Ultron began inAvengers: Age of Ultronand feels appropriate to revisit withUltron’s MCU returnin the upcoming series. As both are essentially built from sentient AI, examining how each exists in the world today could make for some effective and interesting stories.Bringing back Spader’s intense voice to the playfully disturbing character of Ultron will surely be an asset to the upcoming series.

2026 Secretly Has The Perfect Setup For The MCU’s Fifth Hulk

An MCU character that has ties to Vision and the Hulk could potentially return in an upcoming 2026 Marvel project, setting up another future Hulk.

The future of Vision in the MCU will thankfully be addressed soon. The character was an essential part of the Infinity Saga and clearly has a great deal more to offer to the franchise. Much of Vision’s story remains to be told. FollowingWandaVision, the hero has only grown in esteem, and examining that in an upcoming series is an irresistible proposition. The future of the hero is certainly compelling, and is eagerly awaited in Phase 6 of the MCU.

Cast

WandaVision, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first TV show on Disney+, first aired in 2021. The series kicked off the MCU’s Phase 4 and brought back Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany as Vision. WandaVision strayed away from Marvel’s typical formula, this time formatting itself more like a classic sitcom as Wanda struggles to cope with the death of Vision.
