Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) and Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) clapping in the stands in Ted Lasso season 3 episode 11.

The idea of a spinoff withTed Lassois a complicated one for me, because it so feels like a team that I don’t know if I would want to do a spinoff.I don’t want to be a part of it if everybody else isn’t. It’s a team. It’s a real team!

I haven’t thought about that, but I think that’s definitely something I would find to be a great journey for Keeley and also for Rebecca, you know? And I think, also, women’s football is something that is so exciting — especially in England, we’ve been doing so well — but I think it’s something that… I don’t know, who knows? It would be a great storyline.

What These Comments Mean For The Future Of Ted Lasso & Keeley

The Show Could Get A Renewal & There Is Scope For Spinoffs

The series thrived thanks to its vibrant cast and clever writers. The popularity of the show means another season is highly likely, but there is also the opportunity for spinoff shows too.

In addition to the Richmond women’s team idea, there was speculation that another spinoff could focus on the next generation of Richmond coaches, led by Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), Coach Beard (Hunt), and Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed).

Temple’s comments show that she may not be finished with the character of Keeley just yet, but her story might be bettercontinued onTed Lassorather than her own spinoff. If season 4 does happen, Keeley is sure to feature prominently, but what direction her story could take is unclear at this point. Nevertheless, Temple seems to be committed to closing out her character’s arc in the right way, and that involves the continued presence of her former co-stars and creatives.

Our Take On The Possibility Of A Keeley Spinoff

There Is Certainly An Intriguing Story That Could Be Told

Ted Lassoboasts an ensemble cast of characterswho are complex and interesting. Temple’s Keeley had an especially strong arc on the show, evolving from trophy girlfriend to respected and competent businesswoman. Her friendship with Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca was also one of the highlights of the series, and a spinoff focused on the two women developing a Richmond women’s team could be an intriguing prospect. Temple doesn’t completely rule out the chances of a Keeley spinoff, but it seems unlikely at this stage. IfTed Lassogets back off the ground, though,Temple looks poised to return.
