Warning: SPOILERS forTrackerseason 2, episode 15, “The Grey Goose.“There won’t be a new episode ofTrackeron June 24, 2025, but there’s thankfully only a short wait before some major storylines move forward. Quite a lot is going on inTrackerseason 2right now, even after the Gina Picket case was ultimately resolved. Justin Hartley’s Colter’s had reunions with Billie Matalon (Sofia Pernas) and his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) this season, Bobby (Eric Graise) seems to have fallen off the grid, and someone high in the government may have their eyes on Colter for reasons yet unknown.
Naturally, these developments have led to frequent shifts inTracker’s cast of characters, and fans are growing ever curious to see how these storylines might ultimately conclude. With theTrackerseason 2 finale datealready announced as June 03, 2025, a lot of hanging story threads should be wrapped up relatively soon. That makes it all the more frustrating that eager viewers will have to wait a bit before the next major story beat. However, the lack of a newTrackerepisode tonight is merely an expected side effect of network televisionin general.

Why There’s No New Tracker Tonight (August 05, 2025)
The Network’s Taking A Short Musical Break
WithTracker’s Shaw family mysterystill unresolved after all this time, almost any gap between episodes would be understandably infuriating. However, occasional breaks are part of the necessary lifeblood of network shows. These breaks give a series time to film and complete post-production in less of a rush, ensuring more quality. They also work in the network’s favor, allowing time for special events such as major sports championships and live award shows.
I’m Starting To Question If Colter Is Really Good At His Job In Tracker
Colter Shaw has shown he can look for clues in Tracker, but recently he has succeeded in cases because of lucky breaks. This needs to change.
This week, CBS is canceling its Sunday programming block ofTracker,Watson, andThe Equalizerin favor of the special eventAn Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile.Filmed at the Palladium Theatre in London, the concert event will promote the musicians' new albumwhile also looking back on their lifetime of friendship and professional collaboration. John and Carlile already received a soft promotion from their recent appearance onSaturday Night Live, but this should provide a more in-depth look at their albumWho Believes in Angels?, which released on June 27, 2025.

When Will Tracker Season 2, Episode 16 Release?
It Won’t Be A Very Long Wait At All
Those eager to see more of Colter, not to mention guest stars such asJensen Ackles’Trackercharacter Russell Shaw, won’t be deprived for very long. With March Madness ending, the award show season largely passed, and no immediately planned special events, network TV will be largely returning to normal scheduling within the week. There are also no immediate plans for CBS to overhaul its programming schedule, at least until the shows on its current slate have concluded their ongoing seasons.
Tracker Season 2 Finally Reveals New Information About The Shaw Family, But It Only Makes Its Plot Issues Worse
Tracker’s overarching mystery regarding the death of the Shaw family’s patriarch has run into many problems in season 2 of the CBS action drama.
As a result, season 2, episode 16 ofTrackerwill air on Sunday, July 29, 2025. Entitled “The Mercy Seat,” this will be one of four episodes remaining in season 2. This is good news for fans of the show who are curious to see where it goes next. There isn’t a lot of room in the season’s remainder for one-off episodes that don’t push ongoing stories, so it should be a fast-paced race to the season’s finish line. Based on recent events in the series, there are a few decent guesses as to which plot points will receive priority.

What To Expect From Tracker Season 2, Episode 16
Several Storylines Might Wind Up Meeting In The Middle
When season 2, episode 15’s final scene began withSofia Pernas’Trackercharacter Billie Matalonopening the door to Colter in her bathrobe, it was somewhat predictable that her robe would find its way to the floor by the time the credits rolled. With an ending like that,it’s extremely likely that Billie will make at least one more appearance beforeTrackerseason 2 concludes. Additionally,Justin Hartley has teased Russell and Dory’s (Melissa Roxburgh) return, meaning there could be more stories for them in the series' pipeline. Hopefully, they could herald some real answers to the mystery of their father’s death.
At This Point, I Won’t Accept Any Explanation For Bobby’s Tracker Season 2 Absence Other Than This
Bobby continues to miss time in Tracker season 2, and at this point, this is the only reason that I am willing to accept for his absence.
The most recent episode also included dialogue between Colter and Randy (Chris Lee) regarding the current whereabouts ofEric Graise’s Bobby Exley, and Randy promised he’d follow up soon. Given that Colter’s recent brush with a government conspiracy seems to have put a target on his back, not to mention the previous reveal onTrackerthat the feds know something about the fate of Colter’s dad, there’s a chance these storylines could all intertwine by the end. Whether they do or not, it should be a thrilling ride when the series starts working toward these conclusions in just a week’s time.
