In “Best of Your Recollection,” Will chases a parolee through an apartment building. The GBI agent peers around a corner and sees the criminal holding a gun. The sound of a door closing makes Will believe he is being shot at. Consequently, he shoots at the man twice. One of the bullets hits the man, while the other ricochets, enters another apartment, and strikes a 14-year-old boy. Ultimately, it’s ruled an accident, but that doesn’t erase the fact thatWill has to live with this boy’s death for the rest of his life.Unfortunately, that’s not the only thing that goes wrong in the episode.

The night before Will accidentally shoots the young boy in episode 11, he and Faith get into a big fight. The argument is shown through flashbacks, and viewers watch as Faith reacts to the revelation that Will made Jeremy (Faith’s son) his confidential informant (CI)inWill Trentseason 3, episode 9. Will explains that making Jeremy his CI was the only way to protect him after he was caught with drugs. Angie (and Ormewood) are ultimately the ones who find the suspect’s gun and get footage of the shooting that helps exonerate Will. She even shows up for him at the end of the episode to be a shoulder he can cry on.
