Wizards of the Coast has just issued an apology for issuing a DMCA takedown of a fan-madeBaldur’s Gate 3-inspiredStardew Valleymod. Endorsed by Larian CEO Swen Vincke earlier this year, this brilliant crossover mod has perhaps been one of the most highly-anticipated additions to the game. Adding a plethora of new content, characters and even some story, players have been eager to get their teeth stuck in it.

Issuing an apology,Wizards of the Coast has informed fans that its recent takedown of the Baldur’s Village mod forStardew Valleywas a mistake. In a statement shared withPC Gamer, Wizards of the Coast clarified:“The Baldur’s Village DMCA takedown was issued mistakenly—we are sorry about that. We are in the process of fixing that now so fans and the Stardew community can continue to enjoy this great mod!“As the decision received a lot of backlash from fans of both games, it’s hard to know for sure the reasoning behind the change of heart.
